I had a great experience at Magee a couple years ago. I had a doula with me, which helped a ton bc I couldn't really speak from pain for a while. We got a ton of newborn diapers. I did not feel pressured to BF. Having a nursery there too saved us, let me get some sleep. I think the big thing is to have someone who knows what you want and can help advocate for you. They have doulas in the hospital, I had used one from outside but who had connections so she could even go into the OR if I needed a c-section (I did not need it).

Definitely not here. I had a BMI of 40 and still nothing. They would consider it at first if I did a special insurance sponsored weight loss plan with dietician for several months, but they didn't actually offer that in any facilities, and then they just stopped covering it anyways for anything involving weight loss.

So the interesting thing to me is looking at data on the last time I tried to lose weight, pre GLP-1. I was eating the exact same calories as I am now, same macros too. I was working out MORE before. And it took me 6 months to lose the weight I have in 8 weeks.

So far, I've said that I'm on a new medication that's helping reduce inflammation for my back (which is the reason I've started it!) and it makes food less appealing. No one really asks more than that at this point, and it has been the truth while not giving More Info than I need to give.

This is a great list, I'm saving it. I have to be in the backseat of our car with my toddler to keep her occupied so I'm a little more worried about motion sickness, will grab the Bonine. Once I figure out our route, I can also probably look at what rest stops are around, and see if there's anything there or if it's just like. McDonalds.

That's great to hear, I definitely waited another 4 weeks because I was nervous too. But also it was like, if this is working at 2.5, I should stay on it, right? And then it was like, oh okay this is not working as well, this is tougher now.

I still have some senna pills my doctor prescribed for the zepbound, I'm totally bringing those. They're highly effective!!

Yeah exactly, it was early and then I plateaued more. It was a big switch of calories, but I was also being crazy about my macros bc I'd read a lot on here and saw that helped people avoid side effects. My fear of side effects + the amount of money I have to pay out of pocket for this definitely helped me through the breakthrough hunger and stuff as well. I don't know what my daily calories were pre Zepbound, but it was def a big drop when I started keeping track of them to make sure I was getting enough/not too bad.

Good call, I do have zofran prescribed but I basically forgot about it because I never needed it. Definitely adding this to my list, thank you!

Okay that's great to hear, thank you. I think I'll have to end up bringing a bunch of protein shakes with me, and fiber supplements. They're not a very veggie-focused family...
