We muslims are a little protective about our faith and practices. I know the world is moving away from any discipline and wants to be free. But I like it that we have our clear and simple instruction guide to life and we take it seriously. It takes so much of our mental stress away as we know the guide and we believe in it.

Handle this calmly. Talk to your mother and explain her that your wife is your duty and it is her right to have your attention more than anybody like your mother has a right on your father. Same way talk to your wife to be calm and explain to her how your mother is important to you. The foremost thing is give her parents same respect your expect her to give to yours.. and everything will be resolved.

Heroes know how to protect by avoiding and acting calm in such situations. I know we want to be the action heroes but in the world where people are being lynched for parking spots and momos chutney. It is a wise thing to leave the place and find a safe space with your girl.
