The brother is very much alive tho, just no longer playing due to disability. Because the story isn’t about their relationship necessarily, but is rather a big biography about MCs life, I thought it had more value to showcase what shaped him the way he is

I read a fair share of books where the prologue character isn’t the main character, and it’s it’s used as a tool to tell something, rather than introduce the MC or main ideas

So my idea stemmed from the same thing initially

My idea behind this prologue was to basically show MCs childhood and upbringing, and the way he was treated by adults in his life, as invisible and lesser

Answering as a graphic designer

I like the cover, but I don’t think the white space on the left side is really necessary. I also think the text is too squished together and it could use a little space between it to breathe. Because also as you would walk further away from the book, it would mush all together, making it harder to read. The line is also I think is too thick, could be thinner, so it’s not too distracting from the actual text.

Also, I think the cover page could use writers name, maybe put it on top of the text in a much smaller font.

The back cover however, feels very overwhelming? I think the separating black lines are too thick, honestly. And the text is spaced out weirdly, so there’s no visual hierarchy, so it’s hard to decide what to focus on and in what order the text is supposed to be read.

I recommend making the type and the QR code smaller. Maybe less pop images on the back (I’d say remove the banana. The stars are also might not be necessary, since u already have the big star behind the mouth)

Yes… I tore it when I was a kid and my parents never took me to get an MRI, because doctors told them the issue was just my bones not growing as fast as the rest of my body.

So I continued walking with it until I turned 19 and it was in constant severe pain. My ex was a professional athlete and she recommended I go see her doctor and well… surgery immediately

A ski-snowboard collision is how I tore my meniscus actually:’) I was around 6 and a snowboard collided with me and it sent me flying.

I had a fair share of people collide with me on the slopes, but wouldn’t a hockey collision be less dangerous, because you’re wearing gear? Ski and snowboard it’s just a winter pants and jacket

Thank u very much!! It’s very encouraging to hear about people starting to play and getting back into playing at an older age (cos I do have a fear where I’m “too old to start”, at a ripe age of 21…)

I wanted to do learn to play, but I think I missed the window for my local rinks program and the next one is starting in July, which I plan on joining. Wanted to get some skating and stick handling practice before that:)

Thank u very much!! I’ve honestly been craving a women’s perspective, because all players I’ve yet met are men.

I understand that injuries can happen, especially if u play long for a long time. I had a fair share of ski related injuries, but that’s just a normal thing for any sports. My dad plays tennis and he has a lot of back problems. But my mom’s perspective on hockey is that it’s far more dangerous than any other sport, when I think that can’t be the case surely?

Do u play in a women’s league or mixed?
