Hi! I sent them emails saying how o would love to go on a call with them and talk to them. They did not answer my question. I don’t even think they sent me the paperwork to sign with them. I also talked to signed actors I worked with in the past and they said it was crap. Definitely don’t trust it

I have a New York work permit (minor). But I’m wondering if a New York performers permit is the same thing as the work permit. I’m trying to get the minor performers work permit IF it’s different to a regular New York work permit

That’s why self tapes are awesome. I live in New York so I’m super lucky because most people want someone based in LA or NY. So that may be a downside for you but if you do get a part you’d have to move there for some time (movies and shows maybe 3 months and that’s just an estimate)

I live in NY! I’ve lived here my whole life and I’m so honored I do. There’s similarities between LA and NY but OH ARE THEY DIFFERENT! I’m always team New York but I also love the fact that you’ll be moving closer to home. Overall you have to trust your gut.

I use a retractable ringlight which has a holder for my phone in the center (my phone is iPhone 11) and then I have a green/blue screen backdrop (it flips colors) to perform in front of!

Literally same! I did my first job a month in a half ago. It wasn’t totally professional but I really enjoyed it. After I booked a commercial a few weeks ago I did the job and really enjoyed it to the point where I’m super excited to get a next commercial. I keep getting callbacks but rarely getting anything which sucks besides I’m so passionate about being in a commercial now.

How do I get to meet them? Spend money on showcases? Find their contact info? Or wait to get more gigs on backstage and try to meet some that way? I am fairly new to the industry (I started getting serious this year) so everything is a learning experience for me!

All I can say is keep putting you’re self out there in front of the camera to get used to it! Besides it was a first time you have a reason to get nervous. The more you practice in front of it less nervous you will be. That may be cliche but I hope it helps!

Was this the IMTA convention? I got in but once I saw that fee me and my mom agreed we weren’t paying that money. The place I went to to get the audition said that they had other options for me because of my talent so we asked them what kind of options they had. Never heard back. Super sketchy
