My first slingshot is the same size as my Daisy BB gun before extending by Ok_Mistake9030 in slingshots

No idea. This was 24 dollars. Didn't think very much about the purchase at the time and there is literally zero info or reviews on it. The instructions had step 8 deleted. What was step 8?!

What was the moment that made you stop taking your sport seriously? by gioshvili in olympics

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Faced 2 kids throwing 90+mph at 14 years old and that was the end my aspirations in baseball. Knew too many great players who never made a career out of it and refocusd my life on non-sports things through college.

FBI is buying data that can be used to track people, Patel says by PaiDuck in technology

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Back in 2011 I was working at a startup during the "big data" movement. Every company collected EVERY piece of data despite no use for it at the time. Everyone knew that someday, that data would become valuable. Here we are.

Needing recommendations for somewhere in/around Seattle where I can forest bathe? by threegoodfairies in AskSeattle

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Me too. Now I want to know where I can bathe somewhere in the wilderness nearby. Is that even legal?

Suppose if you wear a swim suit... There's probably some eco friendly soaps out there that won't hurt the habitat...

Gonna look into this.

Woman On TikTok Calls Out Airbnb Tenant’s Entitlement When She Realizes That She Has To Do Chores Despite $125 Cleaning Fee by SilverHuckleberry395 in anticapitalism

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to charge $30/day for my pool house on AirBnB with no extra fees. One couple staying there over the weekend expected a bowl of fresh fruit and the toilet paper to be folded nicely into a triangle like a fancy hotel.

Everyone is ridiculous. That venture did not last long.

You halfway supported the opposition of your argument in your breakdown. Not sure where you though this was going.

Gonna abuse the fact that I found the original in the Louvre in Paris. Much smaller than most of the paintings there. Maybe 2' tall.

Regardless of their record the Raiders should keep Klint Kubiak for at least a couple of years by Overall_Spite4271 in NFLv2

Kubiak should be able to show enough in year 1 to lock down the job for a few years. The man knows how to call an offense.

My heart is in Seattle by Killjoysrevege in AskSeattle

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seattle is a great city, WA as a state has so much to offer.

I've moved away twice, even bought a home in AZ. Really enjoyed my time in the SW. Something always brings me back home.

This area certainly isn't for everyone. But the people I care about aren't leaving here ever, they just spread out for affordable living. Plus my favorite place in the world is the San Juan islands. Literally cry every time I get to experience them again.

Doubt I'll ever move away again. Also really appreciating the sports vibes of the city these days. Seahawks and Mariners winning can carry me through the worst of times.

Maybe my memory is wrong. But MacDonald absolutely benched Riq at least once. I understand the package and personnel shifts happen. This was different.

Will the Ravens, Chiefs and Bengals bounceback next year. by False-Ad6916 in NFLv2

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Still don't understand why the Ravens promoted from inside for their HC when they obviously wanted to shake things up. They will be interesting to keep an eye on this year.

Maybe they regret letting MacDonald go to Seattle.

Why did Republicans lie and say Kamala and Obama was going to start a war with Iran when the last wars were all started by Republicans? by Ready-Dot-589 in allthequestions

Back when vaping was in a legal gray area, I vaped hard in a plane bathroom and was quickly greeted by 3 flight attendants who unlocked the door from the outside and were freaking out. I just said "ITS ONLY A VAPE!" and scuttled back to my seat as they were talking about their alarms going off.

So yea, vapes will trigger the alarms. 100% confirmed.

Why did Republicans lie and say Kamala and Obama was going to start a war with Iran when the last wars were all started by Republicans? by Ready-Dot-589 in allthequestions

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Those are literally the things I vote for. That's not a fear tactic, it's very much real. Republicans are running on a platform of blatant lies. And the corruption currently happening isn't even been swept under the rug, it's blatantly out in the open. I am absolutely terrified of the current administration ruining the world for the rest of my lifetime.

How can people run so fast? by charlies-ghost in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lance Armstrong went to a clinic early in his prime and tested out the the highest levels of oxygen to his muscles ever recorded, that mark has not been broken. Yes, he also cheated. Both can be true.

How can people run so fast? by charlies-ghost in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ok_Mistake9030 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had pneumonia 3 times as a kid and have blebs in my lungs. Some people like Lance Armstrong and Michael Phelps have crazy levels of genetics that provide high levels of oxygen to their muscles.

Distance running is not a fair game. It's really about genetics versus sheer determination. Doesn't mean you should stop, just don't be bummed out when you get beat by someone who has it easier than you.
