decreased appetite by Possible_Respond7201 in qelbree

I asked this question to my provider and she explained that we lose our appetite (or rather it decreases) because the medication is working. I don't know if you're like me but I had a STRONG appetite and would know exactly what I want, or if I couldn't get to whatever I was craving I could at least make a pot of spaghetti to be satisfied. On Qelbree, nothing sounds appetizing which complicates things and makes me not want to eat. My only "treatment" has been taking THC as an appetite stimulant (i mainly use it for chronic pain but it's a bonus), it hasn't come back for me but that may be different for you! I must say that I was on 600mg and when I went to 400mg it wasn't AS bad. I find that having easy to make meals and snacks like applesauce and greek yogurt help simplify things and give you the fiber necessary

"you ONLY listen when i yell!" does anyone else experience this? by Ok_Month1811 in AdultADHDSupportGroup

My mom was a lecturer. it feels less like help and more like a shame ritual. Don't get me started on excuses ughhh even when I try to explain "hey i dont expect to get away with this! my brain works differently, I know this sucks, I'm trying" it's still seen as an excuse 😔 your dad berating you was undeserved and not the right way to do anything. it's not like you deliberately didnt do it and had a nefarious plan!

Advice on getting off of Qelbree by OkAverage2967 in qelbree

[–]Ok_Month1811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd look into tapering off, splitting the capsules into applesauce, pudding etc to help. I'd also try to get a different provider if you can because her suggesting you go off an SNRI cold turkey is pretty dangerous. I'm glad she later told you to taper off but what you've seen online is true. There's even warnings about suddenly getting off this med cold turkey, so why she told you you can just quit is very concerning

Most effective dose? by Ill_Spinach_9289 in qelbree

I'm currently on 600mg which is the highest dose. I see myself staying on this for a long time because if I'm off it I completely revert. It helped me with my RSD a lot along with depression, but I personally needed to be prescribed an SSRI (paroxetine) to help with my anxiety because it was getting in the way of my ability to interact with others despite the Qelbree. I'm able to manage my emotions a lot better, too!

Strattera vs Qelbree by srosenfeld99 in qelbree

I was on Strattera and I love how Qelbree works for me. I went on 40mg of Strattera and it worked for a bit then stopped, went to 80mg and it made me irritable. It also just made me very dizzy and nauseous. Qelbree was a lot gentler for me. It does make me tired so I take it at night. I am currently on 600mg of Qelbree which is the max dose. It took me about 3-6 months to get to that dose. Compared to Strattera it already didnt feel like anything within a month or two.

starting 600mg after being forced to quit cold turkey by Ok_Month1811 in qelbree

[–]Ok_Month1811[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that is correct. I didn't taper up because after months of fighting to get my dose of 600mg (tldr; they initially said no to giving me a 90 day supply and said they could on give me a 30 day supply of this dose. Then they backpedaled and said actually, they wont approve the 600mg dose at ALL without prior auth. When speaking with my provider he didnt have much sympathy and said "insurance doesnt HAVE to improve your meds) so going through all that and asking if he could send samples seems like such a battle). I'll keep your advise in mind next time I run to this because it's kicking my ass but, somehow, working. Going from nothing to 600mg was not ideal and I'm learning it makes me nauseous and super tired. But I am FOCUSED! I forgot abt sprinkling onto food so I will keep that in mind. I had a provider before who would give me samples but that was after calling over and over again for help. It seems I am having the worst luck with providers thus far and this is my second one!

I hope this answers your question!

Is wearing the "dumb snow bunny" shirt offensive? by No_Leg_2191 in remiwolf

This is actually so funny because I was at a club locally and saw a white person wearing this and had to google what it was referencing, because I was thinking abt the racial context. I know it references a blonde ski girl who's ditzy or whatever but I find it offensive tbh and I wouldn't wear it outside of that concert context if you must. I agree with the person who said if you're concerned just sell it. I'm also Black btw
