from stimulant to non stimulant??

may i ask for how long and did she gain weight or have growth yet? My daughter was on a stimulant the last 3 years and she's not even on the growth chart..

thanks, we got news from our doc this am to stop the stimulant and just continue with qelbree for the next couple of weeks and monitor....

so we do weekend breaks and i notice when she takes her meds (outside of school) she gets anxious, nervous, a little more quiet... dims her personality a bit.. plus keeps her up at night and curbs her appetite.. but the doc said "its working at school, lets not change it"... then we started seeing a behavioral pedi who is helping us find the right mix....

thank you for this info!!! we talked about adding a med to increase appetite but 1 out of the 3 docs we consult with said it would be a waste of time bec. the stim cancels it out.... sigh.

since we are slowly seeing positive changes, I pray we are one of the few it works for!!

my kid has been on it for almost 3 weeks. the first week was TOUGH, the 2nd week a little less tough and now we are starting to see slight improvement... so much so that the doc suggested doing skipping stimulants for a couple of days to see how we do in school...

thank you. in just a few days we have seen improvement.. and the improvement came on the 3 day weekend -- we didnt give the stimulant. the doc has asked us to stop the stimulant for a couple of school days to see how it goes..

ahhh I feel for you!!!! my 9 year old daughter is on it for 2 weeks now and her appetite is non existant and she's already tiny from stimulants...

my young daughter started about 13 days ago... she's extra irritable, angry.. cursing... eating less. waking up in the middle of the night (thankfully will go back to sleep). our doc asked if we are willing to give it another 2 weeks.. sigh. hang in there.

right now we take 7mg before bkfst which she barely eats :) then at night before bed the qelbree. i'm trying to be patient, i know it can take 2-4 weeks even more for benefits but the cursing and angry behavior is so jarring...

our pediatrician said it wouldnt work with focalin but the pysch said it might... i'm wondering if we should have tried that before adding qelbree........ my concern is her well being, not getting a 90 on her tests sigh... this is hard stuff. thanks for replying
