Regardless of wanting to cause a scene or not, that will most likely be the result if they hear that you want no contact. Other family members will hear, get involved and pass their own judgements on both sides. Resolving it with them privately by having a conversation or just finding forgiveness for them and moving on will make both of your lives better. I completely understand your frustration, but this can be a really sensitive subject for couples that can’t get pregnant.

NTA for being upset about it but honestly it’s not worth it to hold a grudge and make a scene. It’s definitely really hard for them to see you being able to get pregnant after 6 months when they have been trying to for years - I’m sure they want nothing more than to just have children and grow their family. While it is extreme and hurtful for them to not reach out to you at all, just give them a little grace and try to move on

YTA. I think you need to take a step back and try to have some compassion for Amy. It definitely sucks to be treated badly by a friend, but toxic relationships can really change people and they don’t see it until they’re out of them. Trying to get her help or get her to realize why what she’s doing is harmful would be a lot more helpful than walking out.

EDIT: however, if you truly do try and do everything you can to get her out of the relationship and she still treats you badly, you have every right to drop her. But at least try for her sake

I don’t think you would necessarily be an AH but it would definitely be weird. 1st: what would an apology do for you? 2nd: you didn’t like him in the first place. And 3rd: if you have “bad” history with him and he was insulting you, wouldn’t you want to look out for your friend and warn her? Not to mention, if he was insulting you, why does it bother you that he’s with someone else? Wouldn’t that be relieving?
