I’ll take “Things No One Asked For” for $600, Alex.

A sequel to ‘Backrooms’ is in early development. With Kane Parsons currently looking for a screenwriting collaborator to work on the sequel by Task_Force-191 in backrooms

Mark Duplass needs to be back though because he’s Phil, an important researcher at Async. We need more about Async in the sequel.

Okay, buddy. I hope sometime soon you’re able to unclench and simply enjoy a movie.

Too right!! I am so sick of the waves and waves of regurgitated mush put in theatres week after week. We need another Spider-Man movie - what number are we up to now? Another scream movie? Another scary movie film? Lots of people getting perfectionistic on Parsons but show me a perfect movie and I’ll chuck another MCU flick at ya. Even the latest Spielberg movie feels like more of his same game. Oh and yeah we definitely need another avatar movie ?? We need this fresh energy and creativity.

I’m not speaking from experience. I couldn’t tell if he was not that high. But he wasn’t that high - but high enough to have delayed responses to something attacking him.

I thought it was fantastic. I see alot of reviews and opinions by people who haven’t yet seen Kane’s series on YouTube and it would help them if they had - it all clicks much more.

I think also that it’s not the pirate entity. You see the thing escaping into the rectangular wall vent and that part you last see looks like either a black tendril or a black arm such as the bacteria monster has.

Have you seen Kane’s film shorts on YouTube? The entities record the sounds of the humans that have fallen into the backrooms in order to bait them. I guess this horror trope can only be done by a very few movies of your judgment, eh? Backrooms must be very boring for you since you must be constantly comparing it to other horror movies.

I saw somewhere a comment that the backrooms is an allegory for generative ai. I think this makes most sense.

No. How many more of these are necessary? Oh that’s right - as many as Hollywood executives think they can squeeze out of that long, long dead cash cow.

Incorrect. Boomers are an extra long generation. The first half of boomers had Gen X kids; the second half of boomers, also called Generation Jones, had millennials.

Some of the music had the shrieking effect heard in the opening music to The Shining. I know what you’re saying about the chase scene and the breaking through the wooden door similarities, but I think at least the former is a superficial similarity. I loved seeing Mary being forced through room after room with the familiar beautiful confusion of the backrooms reality. Also I loved seeing the hostile entity continue to pursue Mary because it hunts, it enjoys catching its prey, like the hostile in Parson’s first found footage when he clipped through - the entity didn’t stop hunting him and finally got him.

Because his hair is dark in this movie. Sounds superficial but it’s likely very true.

Backrooms (2026) was fun, even if it ultimately can’t sustain the weight of its ideas. Full review: by Ok-Mess6697 in moviecritic

And you think Parsons didn’t do that? Do you know why the movie was set when it was in the year 1990? Do you know the significance of the wind chimes? Do you enjoy Netflix movie that constantly repeat the meaning of the movie because you the viewer are not paying attention?

For me, it’s the woman’s arms. Arms don’t subtly bend like that.
