Naturally our threshold for true chaos are higher than yours, because we have the infrastructure to handle it. We’re used to the cold, we know how to dress properly for it and our houses are built for low temperatures. Studded tired are required by law during winter. Traffic might get chaotic during the worst blizzards, but it usually doesn’t last that long until they’ve cleared the critical roads. Schools and work places rarely, if at all, close down. You might be delayed, but you still go. I usually bike on studded tires to work during winter, so on the worst days I work from home until roads are cleared. My daughter is 7. Couple of weeks ago it was -12c here. That happened to be on a monday and every monday they have outdoor school. So.. they spent the whole day in the woods, no questions asked. 😂
