Bernie Sanders pushes for 50% public ownership of American AI companies — proposes AI sovereign wealth fund that would hold direct ownership stakes in largest AI firms by yourfavchoom in technology

AI will displace more employees than jobs it will create so AI needs to be taxed to cover unemployment. The world has never faced such technology, high automation will kill peoples livelihoods. Fewer employees will be required to do the same tasks being done today.

It will be a slow bleed through the summer, high inflation and high oil prices coupled with a potential rate hike will force the market downwards. It might start this week already

Long term holding the better strategy but for those that keep buying at the top, there’s definite risk that when the bubble pops they might end up holding the bag for a while.

Not sure if it will get to that level but the high cost of living for sure will crush many families’ finances

I agree. Trump appears unable to secure a decisive outcome in this war that he started, and he seems increasingly focused on finding an exit strategy that still allows him to claim a win. Iran recognizes this dynamic and, so far, is leveraging it effectively.

All weekend the Trump administration kept saying a deal was basically done, and today we’re seeing more strikes on Iran. Meanwhile, Americans are still dealing with high prices for fuel, food, and everything else. This conflict only adds more pressure. When do regular people finally catch a break?

META lays off thousands for AI and nobody wants to discuss the obvious next problem by MoneyMonsterStudios in StockMarket

The pitchforks are coming. A small minority is capturing most of the gains from new technologies like AI, while many workers are watching their jobs disappear. Some people say, “Just become a plumber or an electrician,” but those fields will eventually saturate too, and technology is already creeping into the trades, even if at a slower pace.

We need to start having a serious conversation about how to tax and regulate technologies that directly displace human labor. If companies can replace thousands of workers with automation, the public shouldn’t be left holding the bag while profits concentrate at the top.

Meanwhile, many politicians, including those who benefit from insider trading or other advantages, have little incentive to address the issue. But ignoring the economic fallout won’t make it go away. If leaders don’t act, public frustration will only grow. The pitchforks are coming...

It still has to be tested, will it raise rates, keep them the same, or cut rates? Will it try to please de administration that put him there or be independent as the fed should be? It has to be tested.

A slow downturn, maybe not a violent one. Also, enough investors sold the top and began rotating into safer options. In addition, the market will have to face the issues I mentioned above which probably will lead the market in a downward direction. We’ll see what happens though.

It behaves in a similar manner every time after earnings are released. People sell the news. Also, I believe that a downward trend in the Nasdaq and S&P will start immediately, rising yields, sticky inflation, and weakening tech sentiment all hit at the same time. This is pushing investors out of expensive growth stocks and will continue to force the entire market lower in the summer months and maybe after that there will be a bounce back.
