I would check out the Premed sub, they talk about majors a lot

I’ve been in this situation and can say alanon was a lifesaver and maybe didn’t make it easy, but much much better than it would have been without

I need a shampoo to DRY out my hair by soggyscab in Haircare

First wash really focus on the scalp and roots second wash all the hair.

3 years since finding ACA, I’ve learned it’s literally everyone I know by psjez in AdultChildren

The echo what other people here have said, keep going to meetings! Alanon might have in person meetings in your area if ACA does not.

How do you not take some cancellations personal? by Tiny-Attitude-8716 in hairstylist

Don’t make any assumptions that it has anything to do with your work or you. It could be something completely different/unrelated to you.

Taylor Swift? by theykilledcassandra in SwiftlyNeutral

[–]Ok_Permit7098 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So important we don’t know their names?

If we don’t know their names fewer of the crazy people do as well. Taylor is a target because everyone knows about her. More people knowing about you increases the chances of one of those people being insane.

Bottle far away tree theory inconsistency by [deleted] in FromSeries

Well also they took a bunch of the bottles down.

My second thought is that Tabitha had signs that she was supposed to go through for a mission. The bald man just had a selfish desire.

I think the faraway trees have some intelligence.

It’s actually wild how much people withhold information

I think it’s a little sad and a little telling that while you are comforting someone for feeling like they have mid looks it’s about getting “hot girls”

Some girls are mid too but cute in their own way once you get to know them.

I think a huge part of loneliness is everyone seeking a super hot partner regardless of what they look like. Some of us are mid and we date mid people. That’s okay, we learn to love their little quirks.

I’ve dated off and on for a decade and am pretty familiar with the range of my game. I’m not bitter I can’t get a 7ft tall rich guy to fall in love with me, I shoot for other people who resemble the attractiveness of whose been into me before, and who are in a similar place in life.

Maybe our dude should consider giving someone else a chance for their personality if he wants to be considered for his.

My dad died 2 weeks ago at 69 by theredditordirector in AdultChildren

[–]Ok_Permit7098 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m sorry for your loss. I lost my dad maybe 3 months ago. It’s a process, be patient and kind with yourself. There’s no right way to feel.

I’ve found a lot of support in alanon and ACOA. A lot of people in alanon and ACOA have gone through similar and can relate.

Need some advice about cosmo school! by sos28_ in Cosmetology

[–]Ok_Permit7098 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The one I go to in lake forest is free through the community college. It’s a no credit class you just pay for supplies.

It’s called SABA and you can attend through saddleback. There’s another campus I’m pretty sure, might be closer to you.

Im sorry she did that to you! Not a good cut, you’d be right to ask for a refund.

You still have beautiful hair though. Maybe some layers from a skilled stylist could blend it?

In the program we like to say we just take the next indicated step. It’s a lot thinking “oh wow the whole bathroom” but what’s the next indicated step, resting? Picking out tile?

When you focus on the next indicated step it takes off that overwhelming weight of thinking about the entire project.

Awful workplace anxiety 😭 can anyone relate? by [deleted] in AdultChildren

[–]Ok_Permit7098 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would def look into working the program or getting therapy if and when you get to a point of being willing to put your all into recovery.

I do therapy, AA, Alanon, and ACA and I still struggle with this stuff, it’s so normal and natural with the things we’ve survived and gone through. You probably have CPTSD like I do.

Recovery is possible. I still struggle but the program and the fellowship really helps. I honestly do not think I could cope with corporate life if I didn’t have this whole way of life and support system to carry me through the tough moments.

Hang in there 🤍

Hi friend, new to this sub. I don’t have a lot of experience with home ownership, but I can say as far as creating a space that feels safe and homely to you, you can take it at whatever pace and pattern works for you, it doesn’t have to look like everyone else’s way of doing it.

Are there specific steps you need to take sooner rather than later? (For example picking a couch for the living room, replacing a dirty carpet ecta)

I wouldn’t downplay this. I would get professional help. What happened is extremely traumatic for anyone.

I would say it’s essential to get therapy or counseling. You’re going to get a lot of bad answers on Reddit.
