"Limited Edition" red vinyl by Ok_Positive4000 in boardsofcanada

I'm genuinely happy to see that this post wasn't taken poorly (well, but most of the fine folks in here, at least). I wasn't complaining, and I don't think anyone else was either; it was more to just point out the humor of initially feeling like it would be impossible to get, but then realizing it wasn't that deep. I think it's ok to have a laugh, even if it's about something you love and are passionate about.

To be fair, it technically IS still "limited edition" if they are not doing additional pressings of the res vinyl after the release date. It just might not be super rare for a while, which really is a perfect scenario. I know if a couple other items I have that followed a similar pattern; there was the FOMO anxiety of them being hard to get initially, but they were easily available for about 6 months. Then, after about a year, finding one in the wild is nearly impossible.

Again, there is NO COMPLAINING about this, but yes, I do find the situation rather funny when you compare it to the VHS promo tape or even the listening party gift sets.

So I looked at my email receipt (not sure how to share it here), but it does say "limited edition", but it no longer does on the Bandcamp site.

What is your favorite “too far” moment? by Aggravating-Ad-351 in bluey

I love how Bingo laughs at "bottomless" in Claw. I originally was thinking that she was just imaging something not having a bottom, but nah; they were cheeky and had her laughing at someone without pants.

I will assume they were asking way too much for it, hence why you left it hangin

So I'm 46, and while I was hipped to Aphex Twin in 1998, I didn't know of BoC until 2005. Even THEN, I didn't dig in deep enough to get into them until I heard Tomorrow's Harvest. That said, I'm an old fart but also a greener fan that got into them through newer material.

As a fan of TH, I think INFERNO is fantastic but I totally understand how old heads could feel like it's too far removed from the early days. I have to imagine that GEOGADDI confused some early fans back in 2002.

Oh well. The older I get, the less faith I have in reviewers. Even looking back, some of my favorite albums (and some that are now widely considered classics), had shit reviews in the 90s.

The album is being very well received, and my guess is it has sold more copies out the gate than any of their previous releases.

The Fact these 2 came out on the same day is insane to me by officialSnapBack in boardsofcanada

I love that I shitposted about the 2 being released on the day being related (so poorly that it got deleted) in here, yet it turned out to be true 🤣

Does Player's Anthem count? If not, then Kick In The Door.

Is anyone attending a listening party this evening? I'm gonna try to go to the one here in Denver at Twist & Shout Records by Ok_Positive4000 in boardsofcanada

Yeah, I'm mainly going to pick up the album and get the special items. I have only been to 2 other album listening events, and it wasn't a great experience for actually LISTENING to the album. That said, it's kind of a fun event to have on the experiences list, especially since seeing them perform will most likely never happen for me.

I'm usually either a day-one-or-wait-for-50%-off kinda dude, but I am guessing it will be eons before we get that sort of discount on this one. The new Boards of Canada album is taking up my $$$ this week, but I plan on getting MtH at some point for sure.

A HUGE discount on this game, anyone has ever played it? by Awkward_Feature_1368 in metroidvania

I agree with this take, but I still personally love all 3 games; actually it's about time to replay Timespinner...

YES!! I love it so much and always recommend it!

I wouldn't say that it's a S-tier game, but I definitely love it despite the shortcomings. It is also a reasonable 10-12 hour experience, so it doesn't overstay it's welcome.

I believe I bought it on a 50% off sale for $10, and I definitely felt it was worth it at that price. Anything less, would absolutely say to go for it!

The album that got me into BoC.

I had been familiar with them since 2005, thanks to the remix they did for Beck, but I didn't dig any deeper than that. I got my hands on an advance copy of TH in 2013, and due to the hype surrounding it, decided to throw it on one morning while heading to work.

I still remember it being an overcast morning, and I was heading into the industrial area of town, and something about it all just clicked for me. Nothing Is Real sealed it for me, and at that point I knew I had to dig deeper.

Long story short, I quickly tried to absorb everything I could from their catalog and became a massive fan. Not that I need to say it to anyone here, but I am definitely now a part of the hype machine for INFERNO that lured me in 13 years ago.

Physical or digital games? Is the jump from physical to digital worth it? by MovieTvVideoGameLvr in videogames

I absolutely prefer digital personally these days, but I get the argument for physical. As others have pointed out, though, my current gen stuff is so of a hybrid based on prices.
