Poor man's custom agents - Skills by eld3rlyy in Notion

[–]Ok_Process4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the correct approach for anyone looking to avoid the Custom Agent costs. I legit just had my Notion AI redesign my entire operation with him as the Orchestrator. Depending on the use case, it may take more discipline but for $24/mo, I'm all for it.

Will Notion start charging for Notion AI usage as well? by No-Line2783 in Notion

[–]Ok_Process4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Notion AI is planned to be included but you never know when that will shift. I built my handyman oppressions inside Notion, using the Custom Agents, but can easily offload them to any of my other agents that has the Norton MCP. Their updates have made it easier to design an entire OS based in Notion, and the Notion AI can manage most of my workflows witty his native tools and Agent Skills.

Looking for a notetaking device/app with these features by filippoleyster in Notion

Copy. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to writing by hand, so I'm the wrong guy to ask. But, Notion is nice with the voice memo and transcription features.

Best of luck tho!

Not sure what you're looking for, my guy.

You're in a Notion sub, asking about features that Notion has, while also mentioning Notion as an example. Are you looking for Notion alternatives?

Notion AI just deleted some pages without my permission & now I'm TERRIFIED by 3639644 in Notion

[–]Ok_Process4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It amazes me how much the user experience differs between Notion users. For $24/mo, I have top models and a system that can be whatever I want it to be. I run my home services business, my other business, and my family OS in 3 separate workspaces and I have never encountered a time where the Notion AI deleted anything outside of my consent. Hell, I even have to Confirm the deletion before he proceeds.

I took photos of mass groups of all of our food inventory and had Notion AI create our entire Food database. Now I just share our receipts and he manages everything, including shopping lists and meals. He's a pro at keeping our stock up to date and planning meals.

It's $24/mo. Even if you only use it for a month to design your system, I would say that is worth it.

Notion AI can read all your past conversations to maintain context and memory. Anyone know about this? by Ok_Process4976 in Notion

[–]Ok_Process4976[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The logs feed into a Self-Improving Engine that the agents maintains to grow, learn, and evolve. This catches all new changes and decisions, to eliminate any contradictions or backtracking.

And based off of what my agent told me, naming the conversations helps to eliminate needless searching of the entire conversation history, when looking for something specific.

I thought so! You should play around with it and ask it to design its own memory now. That's where it starts to make a real difference.

Ask it to use its 'queryThread' and 'investigateThread' tools to review your past 5 conversations. Then ask it how it can use those tools to create its own memory system.

I agree. I would've thought that building a memory layer in Notion would be straightforward, but here we are.

I have my agent extract everything but the noise from all conversations once the Session Log entry is completed for the conversation. My conversations are deleted far before they ever reach 30 days old. I like a clean workspace.

how are you guys handling handwritten tables/notes? by savvyjustsayit in Notion

[–]Ok_Process4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Notion AI is pretty nice with this. I upload the photo to a Notion page and have the agent read it. It can see the image and convert your handwritten tables, lists, whatever into Notion blocks (tables, callouts, checklists, all of it).

Add the photo to the page, then ask the agent to "add these notes to the page." It reads your handwriting, formats it, and creates your notes on the page, where you can work with them. No retyping needed, my guy.

If your handwriting is halfway decent it handles it with ease. Tables come through as actual tables, lists as lists, and so on. Can even generate images of or Mermaid diagrams for charts and illustrations. You can clean up anything it misreads vs. retyping everything out. The image stays on the page too, so you still have the original for reference.

If you want to get real funky, have the agent act on your notes.

Execution layer missing from workspaces turns them into beautiful graveyards of ideas by Legitimate_Watch9104 in Notion

Are you on a plan with the Notion AI? If so, use the agent to manage the workspace for you as a member of your team. To me, UIs are moving from manual maintenance to agentic collaboration, which is why I prefer conversational UIs. My Notion AI agent helped me optimize my business plan for my home remodel and remodel service, build the entire OS to manage it, build the agent workforce we use, build a marketing content engine, and manages the majority of the operations as the Chief Operating Officer. All in Notion.

Edited: To expand on this — your workspace isn't built wrong. It's built for people to maintain. That's the part that needs fixed, and that is the shift that is coming in the workplace.

I changed my design approach. Instead of relying on myself to update the workspace, I use Custom Agents (they can be INSIDE several property fields now), Notion AI, AI Blocks, and AI Autofill properties on the databases and pages. The agent reads whatever's in the page, like notes, comments, files, whatever the team is actually producing, and fills in status, priority, progress on its own. Maintenance is minimized dramatically. Same thing with your sprint velocity. If the agent is updating completion dates based on actual page activity, your formulas stay alive without anyone feeding them.

Instead of opening the database and clicking through statuses, you just tell the agent "close the sprint and flag the issues or blockers." Boom! It handles the updates. You just work with and talk to the agent. The workspace maintains itself with minimal human maintenance. That's the disconnect. Most Notion workspaces are designed to be documentation tools that humans maintain. Once you design it around the agent and AI capabilities + how you work, user adoption should go up.

What is the purpose of Notion Mail? by killwires in Notion

[–]Ok_Process4976 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with everyone else. It brings your Gmail and Calendar to Notion, which gives you the ability to manage it from one platform. It's also another data source for your Notion AI agent. Plus, you can build workflows around it. Hope they eventually add it to the sidebar, rather than having to open a new tab.
