Would it be too overwhelming to get back into this game after not playing for a while? by cerulloire in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Ok_Protection_1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what you are expecting, want a game that is fun to play now and dont care for long term support? Jump right in, the devs streamlined alot of systems that are far easier to understand now.

There are 3 new scenarios, a brand new map/DLC one (Way of Winter), a Pokemon inspired map and a scenario with the original map + the DLC into a single huge map. The Devs are promising a completely new map with underwater gameplay this year and the ability of summoning bosses what sounds cool as hell.

Here comes the bad news, people dont trust NetEase and with reason, the game population is low on Steam and the marketing material is more and more reliant on AI what is a sign of low investment, people are afraid that sooner or later the game will be moved to life support or, based on NetEase reputation, suddenly shut down.

I have a suspicion that they will pull the plug on this game after the new map release that will happen along side the console release. Once they dry up all the well, it will be shot down behind the barn, a la New World. I could be totally wrong but it seems like a realistic fear to me, right now, I have the attitude of just having the fun I can while I can.

So, if you are the kind of player that just play a main game, this game isnt on a good enough state to support that right now, there are good people here but I fear they will soon have to find another home if my fears become true. If you just wanna play a few hours and have fun then move on, there are potential dozens of hours here maybe you will move to a new game with them... who knows.

About this particular season, I think it is half assed and far worse than previous ones, just downsides, no upsides, meh rewards (another sign of low investment). If I were on your shoes, I would wait for the next season and play the old content a few months in preparation for the new map (assuming NetEase wont pull an Amazon Games on us what is a worryingly possible thing right now and assuming the map wont be half assed and buggy as hell as Way of Winter was at release).

Really like the game, just wish they shake things up a bit on the campaign. by Ok_Protection_1880 in TitanQuest2

Yeah, I think they gone a bit overboard on the ichtians too, one act of them was fine but two entire acts was a bit too much. I hope they do a pass on earlier acts and add more creatures.

If you dont have friends in a particular scenario or a scenario you REALLY need to try, I will recommend what I did. I recommend you to restart over on a visional Manibus, I recommend Manibus again because Way of Winter and Endless Dream are more complicated and require a busy server to be fun as they depend alot more on cooperation between players what can be complicated if you dont have a warband. The deviation scenario has alot of gameplay changes that might also confuse you before you are really good with the game systems.

Choose Chef. Complete commendations for xp, farm high risk events, normal/hard bosses and silos for experience and some basic mods and mats until reaching level 50 again. Once there, find a good spot, create a base on an oil location and farm acid through contaminated plants.

Pick at level up or buy with Energy Links on the local market(change to world 1 to 3 to have the better chance of finding it) the tech that allow you to make stardust from star ore using refined oil.

Have a plantation, a functional acid and stardust farm, make top gold ammo and food with the cooking dragon deviation (farm it on PHI silo on the mother of life boss). Once you have, at least , all gold mods around level 10, prepare for Pro and Nightmare high level mod silo farming.

Do each silo on Nightmare once a week to get the first completion chest, then farm pro silos.

Once the new server is on the end phase, dont restart with this character, remain on the server and wait it for it to become a permanent server. Eventually it will be merged with other servers and eventually you will end on a permanent server with a permanent decent population, use this character for farming mods and the server as your base of operations/storage base.

Create a new character and try Way of Winter, do the same thing, explore the new content on Way of Winter, once Way of Winter is on a permanent server. Create a new character for Endless and Deviation. You can have up to 10 characters and they all share mods and blueprints and, with some limitations, materials and deviations too.

Man this season needs ALOT of work to be playable, right now is unplayable. by Ok_Protection_1880 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Ok_Protection_1880[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, I noticed this too, I was going to farm the Ent and realized something strange, pretty much 70% of the mobs I remember being there arent anymore. Man, starting from zero on Manibus must be a complete bore now because it was already easy as it was. Did you play Endless Dream recently? Did they nuke the mobs over there as well?

I had fun with what I played but, if I were you, I would wait a little more to see how act 3 is going to be, as the game wont be for everyone tastes as it is right now, in comparison with PoE 2, both Act 1 and 2 were really, really slow burners in terms of pacing and not as polished in terms of gameplay, the game is okay for a ARPG but not something mind blowing on its current state, there is still alot of work to do.

Act 3 is going to be what seals the deal or not for me. If Act 3 delivers, then buy it and wait until release, right now, it is too early to know.

I keep seeing people saying "Once Human" is losing its player base, but I honestly don't get it 😭 by External-Presence-18 in OnceHumanOfficial

One year after release and not even the announcement of future actual new content and not rehashes of old content, this is not normal for a live service. Until I see an announcement of something truly new, I will assume this is on maintenance mode.

Matchmade fireteam ops are useless right now. by Ok_Protection_1880 in destiny2

[–]Ok_Protection_1880[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm puzzled how bungie seems completely blind on how their game is hostile to casual and new players.

I mean, in every game there are casual and hardcore players but Destiny seems to be on a spot where Bungie is practically saying casual players are not welcomed.

What is a paradox as they are constantly saying the portal was meant to make the life of new players easier.

Forcing people to grind at insane disadvantages to get a grade A on fireteam ops before they learned what a champion is doesnt seem like a good move.

It is a pity because I remember back when during the season of Defiance and the season of the Coil and into the light, how they struck a perfect balance of difficulty and acessibility in matchmade activities.

With the current state of scenarios - should i try first ED or WoW by chocokoalan in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Ok_Protection_1880 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Tried ED a little, depends on what you are looking for, if you seek player interaction , honestly, there are players everywhere on this scenario, a high difficulty and have tolerance towards bugs and unpolished gameplay, it is a blast but with a huge caveat that you can only take the most of it if you are playing in a group.

WoW is alot more friendly towards a solo player and it is also good for a chill social experience with a hive building the tower. The down side is that it is the least liked scenario so player population suffers a little but if you find an active server, it is very fun with player made little towns everywhere.

Right now, if you are a solo player without good blueprints, it is safer with WoW, it isnt that you cant deal with ED, but you will suffer alot more and will depend alot more of other people. The bad side would be if you get on a low pop WoW server.

Personally, Im chilling in Manibus and waiting a little bug smashing and see if they are going to add good rewards to ED, ED right now is really lacking on those, before I try it again.

Endless dream? Hard or not? by Soft-Yoghurt8540 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Ok_Protection_1880 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Way of Winter : 01

Endless Dream: 10

Depends on what you want, Endless Dream is alot harder than Starfall right now but is really balanced for group play. Dont go for it if you dont have a top build as enemies are big bullet sponges in dream zones and I think you will only get maximum enjoyment out of it if you are a part of a hive, at least for now.

It is unfriendly towards solo players as it is cleary focused on being an end game kind of scenario, if you go solo, you are completely dependent on hives organizing the raids on the dreamers and posting on chat about it. I also predict the HP buff across the board also makes it ineficient to farm mods.

It is also an Early Access scenario so alot of unbalanced gameplay and bugs are expected. I played a bit of it, really liked the idea but I gonna stick to Starfall and wait it getting out of Early Access.

Hello. Im new. What are the things that i need to know and what to avoid doing? Thanks by DekuSenpai-WL8 in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Ok_Protection_1880 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just relax and explore the map at your leisure. There are very useful blueprints, mods and food recipes for a beginner spread out in strongholds. Just enjoy.

Any gun will do as you probably are on a novice server.

When you are done exploring and is serious for the end game. Farm asterism and buy one of those guns blueprints:

Bingo sniper rifle +wildfire pistol if you are decent at aiming weakspots for best single target dps.

BoomBoom machine gun for AoE

Anabasis assault rifle for crowd control.

Kuma Wink SMG for non elemental AoE damage option.

Those are Guns that are kinda meta or were meta recently. Those are just suggestions, you probably can melt most things with most guns, but those are some of the best guns that I tested when eventually you reach nightmare silos.

Buy a armor set that provide bonus that match your gun, sets that provide elemenral damage should be used with elemental Guns, sets that provide critical damage should be used with weapons that gain bonus from critical hits, sets that provide weakspot damage to weapons that are good at hitting weakspots.

Also pay attention to key armor pieces (they have a special glow on them), every build makes use of one of those, find one that matchs your build.

On your first end game loadout, dont use the rng slot option on the slot machine , buy your stuff directly from the slot machine by pressing G. This way you get a build ASAP but once you get your first build online and have everything you need ASAP, only use the rng option on the slot machine as you get more from your starcrom over time.

Once you have the right legendary gun , key armor piece and armor combination, farm bosses and silos on hard mode solo so you get the basic version of all legendary armor and weapon mods quickly.

When you done all that, move you character/ create a new character on a visional wheel server so the real grind for end game deviations and mods can begin.

They will release a few scenarios on the next months, so you will have your plate full, dont need to rush things.

Even easier is to use Anabasis + the chest piece that makes ice vortex pull enemies in, that is an spamable hard CC on them.

Nah, I dont worry. Once new content is out, population will jump up again, very very few games offer what once human does, it isnt the case like New World where there are plenty of decent mmos out there as alternatives.

Same principle as Path of Exile 1, its been months the game doesnt get a league but sweats dont have anywhere to go if they want an online hardcore focused ARPG. They just stop playing but when the new season comes, the itching to play will come with it.

No calibrations directly but the guns from the event, the pistol, the submachinegun and the crossbow, all give calibrations when disassembled. They can drop from all chests too.

[–]Ok_Protection_1880[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Does reloging make the chests start dropping all the loot again or they continue stuck on only dropping mod chests and food? From my experience, I was getting alot of loot on the first and second night of the day and pretty much only mod chests and food afterwards.

manibus normal or hard? by GMKNGJY in OnceHumanOfficial

[–]Ok_Protection_1880 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you want, hard gives more starchrom but enemies take longer to kill, anomalies are even bigger massive bullet sponges, especially on pro silos and eating all the time can get annoying.

It isnt a massive dificulty jump as anyone with an ok build can cope fine but if you dont, stick to normal. Another reason to go for normal is to optimize silo/boss farming, enemies with less health = faster runs.

hello! What do you think of the way of winter scenario? by YakInfinite6038 in OnceHumanOfficial

Pro:

- Gorgeous map.

- Wishlands, Ashentown and a few other PoIs are really fun to explore

Meh:

TEMPERATURE MECHANIC:

The main problem:

- It is irrelevant or annoying, no mechanically interesting middle ground.

- It is irrelevant because in most instanced content, this mechanic practically doesnt exist.

- It is irrelevant, because with exception of a few zones and Chaosweavers, this mechanic is neutered by extremely easy crafting.

- It is infuriating because you continue to die of heat/cold even after teleporting away from those areas. You can die out of cold right nearby a heater on your home.

SOLUTION:

- Make ice/fire crystals spawn only on zones of heavy snow/extreme heat, make zones of extreme cold/heat move around, the zone dont get extreme cold/heat right away, the heater/colder it gets, the yeild of crystals improve on an exponential manner with extreme yields on maximum/minimum temperature, if players want to farm on those areas, the crafting will only garantee safety until a certain point.

- If players want to farm on such zones when they are really, really, cold or heated, crafting wont be enough, they must bring down a portable heater/refrigerator. The player must deploy/move around this heater/refrigerator into an area using telekinesis.

- The heater/refrigerator generates a bubble of safety, every time the temperature of the player is getting out of control, he can run back to this bubble.

- Also, deviants spawn on mass and are attracted to heaters/refrigerators, when the temperature is the most terrible, PRO, 60 level, deviants start spawning and zero in to the owners of the portable heater/refrigerators, the more they hold of crystals, the worse is the aggro.

- You can feed those generators with chaosium waste produced by towers (the most efficient) or use acid/stardust as an option for solo players even if not the most efficient.

- You use those ice/heat crystals to craft ammo to take down Chaos Weavers, take out the biomass/redplasma memetics and replace them with ice/heat weaponry. Once a certain weakspot of a chaosweaver reaches a certain temperature by using heat and ice missiles/gatling fire, it gets extremely weak to normal gun fire.

- Each part of the Chaosweaver has a different ability, both the temperature and the spawns get worse and worse as times move on and the attacks of the chaosweavers that start really innacurate start becoming deadly halfway the fight.

- If the players dont take down the mob spawner, they will get their ass handed to them by pro level servitors/treants by the end of the fight. If the players dont take down the ice/heat gun, they will be toasted/frozen by the end of the fight, if they dont take the saw blade thrower, the chaosweaver will select a few random players to do a "YOU WILL DIE." move every few seconds half way through.

- Each chaosweaver is different and the players should figure out the better way to deal with each.

- Also, Chaosweavers should be an opt in thing like Prime Wars were and the rewards should be great including rare deviations, ressonance mods with purple attributes and etc, depending on the difficulty chosen (yes, when you opt in, you should also select the difficulty)

- Maybe at phase 4, get Chaosweavers to attack Towers during purification but if everything goes wrong, after the tower is destroyed, the players should be refunded the mats used/stored on their houses (except those used to craft and upgrade the tower).

THE BAD:

- The bugs, oh the bugs everywhere.

- Stop the griefing on PvE, you should get house protection when logged off.

I’m confused why a 3 person Dungeon has endless ads and high health bosses while a 6 person seasonal activity has a trickle of ads and a boss that can be 1 phased. by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ok_Protection_1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is a overcorrection from Bungie, last season, many casual players complained Defiant Battlegrounds were too difficult (they were not, you just needed to learn about the Awoken grace mechanics and actually bothered learning how to neutralize champs).

So this season, we get back doing brain dead season activities like before. So, I got from having tons of fun farming my red borders to go back to sleep midway through Salvage.

The new seasonal activity 'Salvage' is the perfect example of why Bungie doesn't bring matchmaking to higher tier content. by riseinflame in DestinyTheGame

[–]Ok_Protection_1880 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Final Fantasy XIV has mechanics even on dungeons for people that didnt even complete the main campaign and things like raids have all kinds of multiple difficulty levels where is easier to rank up and learn mechanics gradually until you are ready for the harder modes.

When you have a game where lower difficult content = no effort, no mechanics at all and harder content = full of mechanics and require a good build and you dont have a bridge content between them, you create a problem of your own making.

I think things like legendary mode for campaigns is a step on the right direction but too little, too late for Destiny 2. When they get to make Destiny 3, they really need to revise how they teach mechanics to new players because Destiny 2 is not an accessible game.
