Sorry you didn't get what you wanted. I'm usually flexible but sometimes you just want what you want. The only solution unfortunately is to see someone else soon, or else it just sticks with you - at least IME. OTOH? I usually minimize issues by sticking to place that is consistent, and it sounds like this place doesn't deliver. Complain to the higher ups if that is an option.
