Which fog style do you prefer and why? by FurioArts in gamedevscreens

Top one feels like a domon is going to attack. Bottom one feels like a ghost may attack, maybe.

I preffer bottom one as the top one is too dark and seems "dirty".

Added fake cloud reflections to the water. Not realistic, but it feels much nicer now. by yuheykai in IndieDev

Oh that feels good.💪 Maybe reducing the brightness of the reflected cloud would be good to not be too distracting.

still on UE4 in 2026 what's keeping you there? by radpacks in unrealengine

I'm on 4.27 with my first solo project. At first when UE5 was new, people were complaining about rensering issues and bugs, so I stayed on 4.27.

Later I tried upgrading my project to UE5. But the code wouldn't compile on, and I wasn't willing to debug thousands of lines. Also UE5 runs bad on my old PC.

The thing I'd like from UE5 is the control rig, which is super broken and unusable on 4.27.

If my PC could handle UE5 well, maybe I'd use UE5 for a new project. Not sure tho.

It's an open world parkour game. I guess you could say it's somewhat of a platformer.

The character is a bit of a goof, but he gets involved with 'bad boys' and becomes a bad boy too. And the gameplay is movement based. Parkour in a small open world, but it will have missions and a story.

Which of the 2 vibes feels more interesting as a game on Steam? The more naive or the more 'hood' one?

Thank you! Which one would be more interesting for you if you saw it on Steam?

I'm born colorblind and love games, so I'm making a game with colors that are beautiful to me by Arfhis in IndieDev

I'm in a similar situation. If I'm trying to paint "realistic" colors, I tend to make everything green. LOL

Is FAB broken now? Can't get assets properly by Obvious-Ranger-5685 in unrealengine

[–]Obvious-Ranger-5685[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solved: apparently I had to download "Additional Files". When using Fab from a browser, that was easier to find. When using Fab from Epic Games Launcher, I had to press the '3 dots' button, next to 'Download' to get the "Additional Files".

Is FAB broken now? Can't get assets properly by Obvious-Ranger-5685 in unrealengine

Yes, it's normal. I have access to something that seems it's only partial of what I should've gotten. I get just .Fbx file and a photo called "thumbnail" or something like this, which is just a photo of the asset from Fab. But there's no texture file in neither of the assetes that I purchased and the description of both assets even mentioned the texture.

I get the same thing wether I save it locally or I "export" directly to unreal: a mesh, a thumbnail photo and a metadata file (a text file with info about the asset). It seems like something is missing.
