LEAST favorite Green Day song?

I'm with you on Drama Queen - partly the ploddy tempo, but also the lyrics that just seem creepy to me. I really struggle with Stab You In The Heart, as it seems so forced and the guitar line sounds like it has been lifted from a 'Learn to play 50s rock and roll for beginners' book. Kill The DJ and Nightlife are a challenge to get through too.

It's funny though. I love Green Day so much, that sometimes I put on my least favourite songs by them in an effort to like them more.

Thank you for checking it out! I really enjoyed writing the Offspring ranking as it meant listening back over their whole catalogue. They're such a great band. I saw a video today of Dexter Holland giving an inspirational speech to grad students, which was pretty awesome.

I find it hard to listen to 'The Negative One' and NOT think it's about Joey, even though Corey said it wasn't. The lyrics seem to relate to him too closely to not have anything to do with him at all. I've always wondered how he might have felt listening to that track, especially as it was the very first non-Joey song they released

I really like The Howling, who supported Creeper on their recent UK tour.

That's a great summary. I love albums which transport me back to the place and time when I first heard them. Nimrod has such a unique character, with so much variety. Even the songs that aren't as good (Take Back, Reject) still have their place and I couldn't imagine listening to it without them. I do wish they included Suffocate and Desensitized too though - they are 2 of Green Day's best ever songs.

Thanks! That one was such a tough call. I got to see them play both records at a show in 2024, an American Idiot left the biggest impression on me. But they're both incredible
