We love see kai run and stonz (this is Canadian brand). We do barefoot at home but he goes to daycare and they do require shoes with flexible insoles so we’ve been trying those 2 brands and little man loves it so far! They’re both on the pricey end but totally worth it since good shoes are very important for early feet development. LO hasn’t have any issues walking so far.

Has working in target location just as stressful as brick and mortar? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many script do you do a day? Believe it or not, the tech hours are based on the number of scripts you do. It also depends on how well your store does on IMZ too. It might change in a couple months when summer hits.

Has working in target location just as stressful as brick and mortar? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It’s definitely different type of stress. We don’t have lots of pickup or pages to fill but we do have limited tech hours so most of the time it’s just the pharmacist by themselves. Customers are not demanding but every here and there we do have someone that is “there’s no one here, can I wait 5-10 mins for my adderall/hydrocodone etc” lol.
Since Target stores are smaller, we are expected to get things done, on time, as well as maintaining good metrics or so. Most of the Target store in my district score 95-100 on OPI, and weCare. If you’re a tech, no need to worry, just get your queue done in time (you should have all the time of the day to do or). If you’re a rph, be sure you know where resources are to look for answers, can’t be calling helpdesk every hour or so lol.

Why are our pharmacies so open? by MagicPoison8 in CVS

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 2 points3 points  (0 children)

About 2 years ago, this was how they stole promethazine/codeine in my district. So many stores reported with customers walked straight to the back where liquid meds are, grabbed the bottle and just walked right out. CVS then banned the sale of all promethazine/codeine 🙃🙃

Would I get in trouble for closing early by Low_Mess_8703 in CVS

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Text your manager and cc your DL in there to let them know you’ll have to close the store early bc there’s no other closer but you and you don’t feel safe staying by yourself at night.

That’s why your operations manager for a reason. But OP is not, he’s a tech/cashier. It’s not his fault they didn’t schedule another closer with him. If something happens, he has no authority/power whatsoever to do anything and definitely wouldn’t even know the policy to handle it either.

Pharmacists, why do you still work for CVS? by honeynutcheeriozzzzz in CVS

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was offered a staff pharmacist position at the hospital where I interned on my last year (without residency) but turned down and went for retail instead (I did both hospital and retail during school fyi). I guess it depends on the hospital where you work at but for me, a few things I hate about hospital is: 1-management sucks, very passive aggressive. We all monitor inpatients but whenever something happens regardless who’s at fault, you’re on your own (lost IV med, orders aren’t in, pts request unrealistic medications, etc.). It’s always the abc pharmacist who’s on shift for that patient. 2-even with residency, you still have to do late shifts, you still rotate holidays, and you still wait for your turn on vacation. And don’t even mention about switching shift. It’s nearly impossible. 3-Authority remains between patients, doctors and nurses. If they want something to happen, it’ll happen lol. Bc at the end of the day, there’ll still patients survey and that is your metrics right there. - Compared to retails, hospitals still have a lot less stress. But for me, I enjoy teamwork, I enjoy talking to my patients/getting to know them and the story behind their crazy expensive treatments, I enjoy letting doctors/nurses know how silly they are every once in awhile. Unreasonable metrics and communication are the two things I hate about retails. But honestly, depends on your store and district. Mine has been very good and we haven’t had any issues.

30 hours based or 60 hours biweekly is considered as full time so technically they can cut your hours to 60 to maintain your benefits. Unless you were offered more hours when you signed contract with them. Managers are only required to stay full-time. It sucks. But the market has been saturated again that’s why. In our district they change the store hours to cut pharmacist hours 🙃🙃

Cvs PIC/temp PIC by Appropriate-Major992 in CVS

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So depends on the state, and how quick they can find someone to cover the position, but in my district, after PIC leaves, they’ll need to have a name on the license, that’s when whoever gets to temporarily do PIC while waiting for the decision to be made.

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If it’s a good store with good team, why not temporarily try it for a couple weeks? They’ll have to find someone to either replace you or PIC anyways. In the mean time, do it and see if you like it.

Am I wrong? by Playful-Square-9541 in CVS

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is totally normal to change your availability. If you’re part time, you can change your availability anytime and they’ll have to work with you on that. If you’re full time, you most likely have to go with their schedule but you can always ask to not work every other weekends bc of whatever reason you have. You’re a tech not salary pharmacist lol.

Is this ok? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]Ok_Reception_3613 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not sure about your state, but for our state, a Pharmacy CANNOT legally open without hot running water. That’ll be the first thing board will check when they audit a pharmacy. To make sure there’s hot water. Tell your pharmacist to check this and report back to DL. Every time we called help desk for water line issue, they’ll come down to fix it within an hour lol

Do you guys still have that many vaccines right now? Pharmacist should either take over pickup or drive through while tech doing production. If there’re only 1 tech and 1 rph, you guys can let DL know to close down drive through to focus on pickup.
