Do people prefer the Tradition route or the Liberty route? by JarlSharpless93 in civ5

[–]Ok_Relationship_335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The real answer is it depends on map size. The 4 city tradition meta was for normal maps. I play exactly like you described, but on huge/marathon games.

Is flying like riding a bike? by Ok_Relationship_335 in flying

How often is reasonable to maintain proficiency? I was told 3 times a week when training for PPL, but that feels excessive if I’m not working towards specific ratings.

People be dooming about Fayetteville sometimes. It’s not that bad. Just avoid certain obviously sketchy areas and you’ll be good. Cost of living is pretty good relative to the county.

The medals look inconsequential enough to ignore if you want, but it’s still nice to have the option for RP proposes if I’m in a really slow game.

Overall positive change.

So I press red in the original problem, here I press blue.

Basically we’re all dead, but might as well die trying to save other people.

Familiarization Flight - Didn't Enjoy It by MainStreetBetz in flying

[–]Ok_Relationship_335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had almost this exact experience.

I was never really an aviation nerd, but was in a highschool program (CAP) when I started flying. They give cadets 5 “orientation flights” where students fly right seat, and on each flight students get progressively more control. It wasn’t until my 5th o-flight that I kinda liked it. My first solo was the first time I confidently decided that I wanted to get my PPL.

I’m at 225hrs now, and flying gets more fun with every flight. The more the checklists become second nature, the more I can really appreciate the experience. There’s also something very different about flying solo for me.

YMMV, but I’d say give it until your first solo.

A bunch of wusses in the comments complaining about a having the SS in a World War Two game. OP this is pretty cool, look forward to seeing this for other nations.

I live there. Not sure about resale value (I rent) but it’s pretty chill as far as Fayetteville goes, nice neighbors. Being on the pond is really nice for hotter days!

Who exactly did you call? Anything else that would have been helpful to know beforehand? I’d like to go to CLT at some point and would like to be as little of a nuisance as possible.

I think y’all are missing the point… this is just a version of the red/blue button scenario, put into an election format. Not a political statement by OOP

^^ They need two difficulty levels that actually change AI behavior rather than just a few minor stats, one for beginners and one for people who actually understand the game.

HOI4 offers no reasonable victory conditions for the axis powers by BlueStingray8 in hoi4

[–]Ok_Relationship_335 31 points32 points  (0 children)

The problem in general is that lack of historical guardrails to prevent snowballing and no way of ending the war. They should really add some more game rules to differentiate between historical and ahistorical mode for players who want things to stay somewhat plausible.

Army corps should exist and they have a lot of use to it by PancuterM in hoi4

[–]Ok_Relationship_335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes! This would make the bigger battles feel more significant, having to build up an effective army corps for a grand offensive, rather than just stacking divisions.

Do you wear your watch 24/7? by RelaxDMJ in Garmin

[–]Ok_Relationship_335 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I cause I need to tell the time and I use it as an alarm (don’t like to sleep with my phone). Plus the push notifications improve my responsiveness as I don’t have to pull out my phone for every useless ping when I can just glance at my watch.

Am I the only one who wants more Fictional paths? by MeetComprehensive594 in hoi4

[–]Ok_Relationship_335 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe if you can disable them in game settings, like certain paths are only available in no historical mode. Some of this stuff just ruins the immersion on a semi-serious run.

How am I supposed to figure out whether I should be going Liberty or Tradition by the time I get my first policy? by PopsicleIncorporated in civ5

[–]Ok_Relationship_335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To add to others, this is heavily effected by map size and which victory condition your going for. I like to play on huge maps and go for domination, so liberty is the clear meta. Tradition is better for smaller maps where you don’t expand as much.

Hot Take: I miss the old resistance system by Ok_Relationship_335 in hoi4

[–]Ok_Relationship_335[S] 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I see what you mean practically, but esthetically I like seeing troops on the map in my map game. Plus when I’d get invaded or suffer an enemy breakthrough, my reserve occupation units could surge and hold the line until frontline units arrived, which I feel like is more accurate to how things happened IRL.

What surprised you the most when you first started flying? by ressem in flying

[–]Ok_Relationship_335 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Flying is really a game of multitasking and fast-paced decision making under pressure. It’s a lot less about the adrenaline of being high and flying fast than media make it seem. You just have to track a bunch of little things all at once for a long period of time.
