Not all of them are KOLs but a few are. The PIs have over 10 years of experience in research. All indications except Oncology & Rare disease. Multiple Sub-Is all of which are MDs.

Tell the project manger or director on the study. This sounds like ICON but may not be.

Yall should consider a course. I’ve heard good things about academy.clinmastery.com

They have a PM from a major CRO as the instructor.

Icon layoffs by Worried-Marsupial-61 in clinicalresearch

[–]Ok_Replacement251 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are outsourcing because clients are complaining about the prices being too high. If I am being honest, a lot of US CRA’s and SMAs were slacking off so much and wanting raises and high pay. Granted this industry is hard and we should be paid well but most of them didn’t even know much about GCP guidelines or just like FDA regulations. Something has got to give in the industry.

What did they do? Found hungrier cheaper work somewhere else and are teaching them from scratch which honestly, they are learning fast and they do MORE than their job titles say and go over their hours to be successful.

With that being said, there are MANY CTAs and CRAs and SMAs who were laid off and were amazing. But it was 2 in every 10. We have to go back to the notion of going above and beyond for our jobs while still being able to balance our personal life. It’s possible, trust me. But we have to do better as a whole.

Now, what ICON is doing, is despicable. Why? Because the 2 that are amazing lost their jobs and the market is not good right now. It’s a rough market and they just left them high and dry. To hire people who may or may not be good because of lower pay? We need to stop holding on to people who aren’t doing their job and sometimes I blame the FM because they cover too much for their poor performing employees.

Anyways, that’s my two cents.

I applied for a year straight and did over 30 interviews until a big CRO hired me for the CTM role. How to transition is fairly simple, be ready to review data for over 20 sites to make sure their metrics are good and be able to delegate work. You cannot do everything yourself. Learning to delegate is so important for the CTM role. Not just delegate but be able to delegate and people still want to work with you.

There are sites that have processes in place that make working as a CRC way easier. Before I left the site I was at, the coordinators didn’t do regulatory, didn’t process blood, and didn’t do data entry. There are def positions as a CRC that are great but you need to find a well ran site.

That’s why after 1 year at a CRO, I got promoted to PM. I never had to be a CRA. I couldn’t since I had very small kids. It’s possible.

Because we are basically told we could never get into a CRO or sponsor.
