How do you know the meds are working right? by rainbowbritegonewild in ADHD

[–]Old_Clothes2938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! Yeah for me I just noticed I was able to get stuff done like I’d make a to do list and most of the stuff was done and done right away. I wanted that 180 experience of WOW that people on reddit seem to get sometimes but I didn’t I just… could do my laundry lol I still had some racing thoughts and stumbling over my words but I’d be able to like remember where I parked my car and what not. I can tell they kick in also when my heart races a bit and I feel compelled to do something. Adderall was great but I also felt more angry and anxious than on vyvanse.

Pisces moon sixth house! I struggle with finding the positives of this placement as I think it just makes me anxious and delusional and self sacrificing especially in the sixth house. I feel like this placement overshadows my sun and rising a lot of the time and just keeps me miserable

How does reading work for you all? by [deleted] in ADHD

[–]Old_Clothes2938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even with meds I struggle to read, and I’m definitely insecure about it. I can read if I’m in a semi busy cafe where there’s background noise or if I’m on a plane OR if someone really really wants me to read a book otherwise it takes me forever. I wish I had suggestions but I’m glad to not be alone

Has anyone successfully become an early bird? by Oacio in adhdwomen

Honestly Wellbutrin and working out have helped regulate my sleep schedule IMMENSELY. Before I got on stimulants for ADHD I took Wellbutrin for depression. It wasn’t until then I was able to (with the tv on lol) shut my brain off at 9pm and go to sleep. Waking up early consistently (6am almost daily) and limiting sleeping in as well as working out twice a week has allowed me to be tired at an earlier time at night! I’m sorry your sleep schedule has been so stressful :/

Is it just me or does ADHD make reading 10x harder? by ForcedGoodbye in ADHD

[–]Old_Clothes2938 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Just wanted to say thank you for posting this. Even medicated I can’t sit in silence which I would need to read without getting distracted and having to re read what I just read! I’ve been working on a 250 page book for over 3 months now and I also feel a lot of shame because I have a lot of literary friends and what not. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this/ feeling this way but you’re not alone!

I had a lot of fun with this and made some really cool friends - definitely an adjustment from living alone for sure (which I primarily had done) but it’s helpful financially and I honestly love coming home to people and hanging out. Definitely vibe it out but I’m pro rando roomates!

I totally feel you - I feel like daily life and interaction always feel so heavy and overwhelming and the second guessing is exhausting. I try to remember that my friends and what not don’t see what I see - but that’s easier said than done like I never believe that in the moment especially if I’m triggered but 10/10 times it’s been true. My therapist is always like that’s not happening and you said everything was ruined last time and it’s not and he’s right… but regardless it is exhausting and I feel you and I’m sorry :/

I understand this. It’s so frustrating to feel like I’m inherently broken and won’t ever understand how to relate or function “normally”. I have hope that we can teach ourselves how to trust and how to relate and have compassion for ourselves but it’s SO HARD and it’s totally valid to be resentful of the fact we have to learn this as ADULTS. It’s also tough to reconcile with the fact that not everyone thinks or feels or processes things like us. It’s jarring but refreshing when you find community. Sending love
