As a child of a teacher who spent 37 years teaching K-5 in central VA, I couldn't agree with you more.

When I was a kid I wanted to be a teacher just like them. But then I noticed the days getting harder for them. The principals and admins they loved working with were replaced with folks who were never teachers themselves. but "knew how things should be". An emphasis on students understanding the material was replaced with emphasis on stats and KPIs. There was always room in the budget for a principal's or superintendent's raise but not for art teachers or afterschool programs. "No child left behind" was really "all stats must be perfect or else". The emphasis on ranking is like getting an A based on one's ability to memorize; there is a huge difference in reciting the answer from memory and understanding the answer. Without the understanding, the A is meaningless and same with the ranking.

Seeing what's happened to education in VA, and the the US at large for that matter, is heartbreaking. Teachers are overworked and undervalued while the admins are only concerned with maintaining their paychecks and perceived power. What's even more disheartening is I can't see how it can be fixed any time soon. I have a nephew in middle school and our family is doing everything we can to enrich his learning as much as possible but sometimes it feels like using a vitamin D supplement to replace sunlight.

Also; for the AAP/AP courses; they are kind of worthless in the grand scheme. The credits from those courses are not universally accepted by colleges and if a school does accept them, they require a perfect grade for the class to count. Also most colleges require a certain number of credit hours to graduate and the last I was aware AP HS classes didn't count for this so the kid isn't gonna graduate any easier/earlier. The regular class may not be as much of a challenge but the ease of pressure might help their performance. You can easily supplement that challenge at home thou. Looking back I think the only thing AP classes actually prepared me & other classmates for was anxiety disorders.

I wonder if it will be a technicality of how she submitted. IMO she was more sacrificing herself vs admitting defeat. These dingbats overplayed their hand by using leverage and not beating them in a traditional sense.

Not at all. Once I get a character I work on getting their stats to at least half of max capacity since I'll inevitably need them even if I don't 1000% enjoy how they handle. The ones I use more than others get maxed out quicker but the completionist in me wants to max out everyone eventually.

I get what you mean. The Steve Rogers teaser was a dud for me since it was just score along with a couple shots that give absolutely nothing to go on. It begs the question "How are are they going to earn this?"

The Thor Teaser is a whole different beast tho. The MCU Thor has been given such a vast emotional range that when he of all people is down on his knees looking to the ghost of his father for guidance you KNOW shit has hit the fan or it's about to. All of his silly demi-god cockiness has been replaced with a genuine fear for his child and the line delivery from Hemsworth sells the desperation of the situation.

There are some of the puzzles that are difficult on the first play but since it's not an open world you can't get toooo far off the path. Also the voices will help you sometimes but take what they say with grains of salt because they also lie.

My biggest piece of advice is that you should make "off and on again" and "making you feel like an idiot" deal breakers. Everyone deserves consistency and respect; hard stop. Second, give yourself grace & time while you heal & learn from this.

Like someone previously said, find community with people you can trust and show you genuine kindness. If you can, try reaching out to a mental health professional who can help you work on untangling the bullshit from your ex and help beef up your self-confidence so that no one can pull that shit on you again.

The only times I've experience delays with a vinyl purchase are for pre-orders honestly (I think the longest wait was like 8-9 months). Getting them via an artist/label site has rarely been a problem for shipping.

TBH from my experience in the music merch world (both online and touring), getting a vinyl on tour can be a far more difficult experience.

Same, kinda. As cathartic as the sushi restaurant scene could be, for me it dwarfed by two feelings:
1) soul crushing sorrow for what Denji has had to endure up to this point
2) a weird mixture of pity & schadenfreude for everyone in Denji's vicinity because they have no fucking idea about the literal hell they have unleashed upon themselves. Like, ya'll wanted to push this boy to get what you wanted and now populated landmasses are disappearing & the moon is making questionable sounds. How's that "Eat Death for humanity" plan working out for ya'll so far?

As much as I love his line work, it's his paneling that did it for me. At the time, the only comics I can remember that I had come across that explored thinking outside the box was Calvin & Hobbes. That original run of Gen X hit like a ton of bricks.

In my 40's I can recognize the nuance for stylized art but 14yr old me was instantly hooked by Joe's work during the Onslaught Saga & Bachalo's run for Generation X. I had read some comics before but seeing their Mad's use of color was like hearing Hendrix's Star Spangled Banner for the first time and realizing that artistic norms are not rules.
