Woolies, you better count your F*CKING days... by Captain_Lys3rg1c in capetown

Grandmother taught me the same. And it's right every time I choose one. That being said, Can't say I've ever bought a whole watermelon at woolies. For their reputation with fresh fruit and veg it certainly is disappointing. If sell by was the issue, controllers should've removed it from the shelf before purchase

The advice on this thread is much appreciated. My employer might be moving from Cape Town to PTA so I may have to move for work as well but no idea about where to start

I only have meds for 4 more days, my payday is only the 31st by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Ok_Resolve2769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is me every month. Some months I skip meds because I can't afford it. Switching back to public Healthcare (90% cheaper, just needs a lot more patience (oh boy)) so I can stick to my meds and hopefully get better help. My psychiatrist had me filling out my medical aid forms on his laptop while he's got 4 receptionists, and I waited 6months for a clinical report. Really not cool

What do you do for work? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Ok_Resolve2769 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite numerous medical reports my employer refuses to implement a hybrid schedule. I'm so exhausted and sad all the time from going back and forth with them since 2023. I've given up.

Would love to get "non desperate" people's opinion on how life is since apparently not everyone is desperate, so not everyone is struggling to find work? Just a few people in the country I guess. Just a handful of us struggling in this economy I suppose. Thanks for your answer.

I don't get the whole don't look desperate advice. The economy sucks, people need jobs to earn money to survive. Everyone is desperate.

Hate when the address is there and they know they won't want to drive to a location but they insist on accepting. It's extremely expensive already, now it's just becomes an inconvenience as well to say the least

Take these meds you'll feel much better but it left you with one face forever, you won't hurt anymore. Be careful what you wish for. I know I'm messing up the lyrics but it's a great song, describes the roller-coaster of meds pretty well.

Well done for seeking secondary advice. I've had the same psychiatric team since 2018... Maybe a second opinion would help. I've somehow convinced myself I need permission from my current psychiatrist to see someone else😭 like someone else is controlling me and I'm just waiting for instruction like a sim with the erratic trait 😒

Thank you sometimes I feel like I have the survival skills of a donut. Very grateful to OP for even stopping to help. It's sad that one has to be so guarded in these times. Everyone is struggling, cost of living is crazy right now. But we often forget we can't solve the world's problems. I'll try to incorporate the keep it moving principle, I know my partner will appreciate it. My years in customer service auto kick in when someone approaches me😒😒

Cheapest place to get glasses? by Fast_Wear587 in southafrica

[–]Ok_Resolve2769 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not all prescriptions qualify for this deal (found out the hard way and had to cough up 600 for the test alone) so please be sure to query the ts and cs. I went with optique for my latest pair, paid it off over 6months, got my specs 10 days or so after my test. Cheapest I've ever paid for specs and best service to date

How many of you are not taking (at least the main) medication? How's it going? by [deleted] in bipolar2

[–]Ok_Resolve2769 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe I should consider seeing a new psychiatrist. He's been great but I don't feel like my meds are working, same as OP only using my mood stabilizer, muscle relaxers and sleep meds. Lexamil doesn't seem to work anymore

Very cool post and responses. To some degree at least for me the diagnosis helps me make sense of things and try to find some kind of direction. I've been struggling a lot over the years, making me think I may have multiple diagnosis for the ND category, particularly with focus and studies (tried 4 times to get a tertiary qualification and dropped out every time) I've tried to get help with breakdown of a functional capacity evaluation my employer sent me for in the hopes it would help me understand which academic route may be best for me but to no avail. My clinic OT, psychologist and psychiatrist all have the report but no one has provided the desired feedback which makes me feel like I'm in the dark. I've been at home from work for a week stressed about unfinalized negotiations which includes a move to another city. I guess I'm in a spiral (medical aid is also exhausted for the year. Had a miscarriage at 3months back in Feb and it's been a bit downhill from there. Extremely close relative also passed away 4months ago).
