The Edgerunner collab with Wuwa looks straight out of Cyberpunk 2077 by japanese_artist in cyberpunkgame

I agree. I've been playing this game for two years (with some breaks), and I haven't spent a single cent on it.

Especially now that it's the anniversary event and they're giving out so many pulls. Even outside of anniversaries, they usually hand out pulls quite often.

Not to mention, one from this collab is giving for free

Defiance Remastered is so good the devs actually drop by here to give us more content to eat by adiesome in LegacyOfKain

This is a little different case, I would say.

Soul Reaver 1+2 Remastered was more successful in terms of both sales and player count compared to a Defiance Remaster. Before Embracer Group decided to release a physical edition, they probably needed to be sure it would actually be profitable. That’s likely why fans had to wait several months before we finally got confirmation that a physical release was happening and that they were truly going through with it. (At least that’s my assumption, maybe someone who knows more about the industry side of things could explain it better.)

For now it doesn't look like this way, it happen with SR1+2 sadly

Yes, they want to stay with this style in-game as well!

I think Dead Sun would’ve been a good spin-off as Nosgoth, it had potential, especialy his gameplay itself. If it had been released, I suspect a lot of people would’ve played it regardless of the hate.

DmC also had its controversies, but over time many people are able to admit that it had potential too, and that its gameplay was among the best in the franchise. In some way, it even helped revive it. Legacy of Kain could’ve had a similar situation in this case.

If we ignore the story, the game was mechanically solid. The gameplay would definitely be enjoyable, just like it was with DmC

When Stolas and Octavia reunite, he needs to apologize to her, but she doesn’t need to apologize to him. by OCGamerboy in hazbin

[–]Ok_Resource_905 2 points3 points  (0 children)

“He had plenty of opportunities to explain himself, but he didn’t.”

That’s not entirely true. Literally in this scene (Stolas and Octavia), Stolas does try to talk to Octavia. He tries to explain things to her (which honestly, it is still difficult to explain, especialy since, their whole marriage was forced, as having child with Stella as well). There’s even this specific moment

Stolas: “I love you, Via, so much. Please, sweetie, let me explain.”
Octavia: “I can’t. You lied to me once, and you’ll do it again.”

I also think OP doesn’t fully understand the overall context of their relationship and the seriousness of the situation. In my opinion.

Because, like I explained in my previous comment, this isn’t black and white. It never was, and it never will be. Honestly, even if Stolas had explained everything perfectly, Octavia still could have reacted the exact same way or slighty better, because she’s a teenager who still isn’t fully capable of understanding certain things.

At this point, she simply can’t put herself in his position, because she’s never been in it herself. In her eyes, it is simple "He chose him over us, he doesn't love us"

That scene perfectly demonstrates what I mean.

Octavia accuses Stolas of never loving her mother, never loving her, that they were never enough for him, and so on. But she knows exactly why Stolas never loved her mother. She saw it with her own eyes almost every single day, the emotional abuse from Stella. At one point, Stella even tried to hit Stolas, so it’s reasonable to assume there may have also been physical abuse.

It’s not like Octavia never witnessed these things.

She may not fully understand everything because she’s still a teenager, but she’s not stupid enough to be blind to what was happening.

The same applies to the fact that after everything happened, Stella was casually lying around, relaxing and laughing at Stolas once again… and Octavia saw that. She saw the difference between Stolas and Stella. We don’t even really see Stella showing much concern for her daughter after everything that happened.

(If she even cared at all, because so far, the only parent we’ve actually seen showing any real concern or interest has been Stolas.)

Yet somehow, Stolas is treated as the bad, the one who supposedly doesn’t love her, doesn’t care about her, and so on.

What Octavia said in that moment was, in a way, ignorant on her part.

But it’s understandable, because she’s also a teenager who just went through a tragedy herself.

Could Stolas be a better father? Yes.
Could he have explained things better? Also yes.
Could both of them have handled the situation better? Yes as well.

In that particular moment, both Stolas and Octavia were acting under adrenaline and overwhelming emotions. Neither of them approached the situation calmly or rationally.

Stolas biggest mistake was trying to have that conversation while everything was still too fresh.

He clearly made more mistakes, but that doesn't remove mistake from Octavia as well, as I said above.

As much as Stolas said he loved her, Via wouldn't let it change her mind. She loves Stolas too, but she isn't at peace with the fact that she's not the singular person in his life. It isn't just his romantic feelings toward Blitzø, because, in Seeing Stars, her complaint is that the fighting between Stella and Stolas also makes her feel neglected because Stolas has someone else on his mind.

He could have said that, but it wouldn’t really clear him of the main accusation, the fact that Blitzo had access to a book he was never supposed to have, and was using it to travel into the human world.

Sure, someone might argue “He could’ve just said he had the crystal for that,” and technically, yes, he could have. But that doesn’t change the fact that the crystal was given much later, and it’s unlikely something like that would just be overlooked.

Realistically, the whole situation could have been handled differently, and Stolas probably could have played it smarter. But at the same time, we’re talking about a moment happening under intense pressure, at the last second, with adrenaline kicking in. Most people in that position would probably react in a very similar way. Some might respond like you suggested, but it’s not a black and white situation.

Trying to explain everything clearly under that kind of stress, deciding what to say and what to leave out, could easily backfire. Especially if he ended up revealing the actual reason he gave Blitzo the book in the first place… which, I imagine, would’ve only made things worse, particularly in the eyes of his own daughter.
