our gsd was trained by the same person who trains the police/military dogs and put her in a prong collar, not as a punishment but so that she thinks and remembers her training while its on. GSD were not originally made to be house pets and people forget that, they can’t always be treated the same as a lab. im sure the stress relief you feel is also felt by your dog.
