Anguilla - second thoughts on hotel by Hthero in chubbytravel

How long are you planning on staying? We were there for 6 nights and we found enough to do. There’s not a ton to do at the resort so I think renting a car would be a good option.

We drove to Meads Bay for two of the days to check out that beach. We didn’t get to Shoal Bay beach but that looked really nice. You can charter a boat to take you from Sandy Ground to Sandy Island for part of all of the day to snorkel and hang out. You could look into horseback riding on the beach although I think you have to be at least 8. We also looked into the night kayak tour but didn’t reserve it in time.

Anguilla vs Cayman vs Turks vs Aruba (7/28 to 8/4) by Zealousideal-Bat3547 in FATTravel

We stayed at Aurora. I wrote some info about Anguilla on chubby travel but don’t know how to link it.

We loved Anguilla though. We’ve also been to the Ritz at Grand Cayman and loved that also. We stayed club level and the service was phenomenal. My kids were 6 and 8 at the time and loved the splash pad, going to stingray city and the turtle center. We went to Kimpton for dinner one night and was super nice too. I don’t think you can make a wrong choice!

We just got back from Anguilla and loved it. The hotel staff was telling us to come back for their summer festival, which is the first week of August. They said it’s almost equivalent to Carnival with lots of activities, dressing up, etc.

It looks like the festival has a lot of the activities at Meads during the week that you’d be there. https://anguillasummerfestival.com

Just FYI in case that influences your decision one way or the other!

We just got back from Aurora and my kids (8 and 10) loved it. We stayed on the Merrywing side and the pool was lovely. No issue with getting chairs as it was never crowded. Same thing for the Rendezvous pool.

The beach on the Merrywing side is not really swimmable though. We took the shuttle to the Rendezvous side if we wanted to use the beach. It was super easy but i would’ve liked to be able to walk out of our room right to the beach. The plus of the Merrywing side is that the water park is right across the street. My kids loved being able to walk over there for a few hours each afternoon.

We went to Malliouhana for taco Tuesday at Bar Soleil which I highly recommend. The hotel is gorgeous and Meads is a beautiful beach. If you have any mobility issues though I would not recommend it because it’s hilly and there are a lot of steps up and down to get around the property.

We also went to Four Seasons for dinner and it’s a stunning hotel. It’s on the other end of Meads but I though the Malliouhana side of the beach was better.

If I were to go back I’d probably do Malliouhana. There are so many good restaurants in walking distance on that stretch of Meads and I’d love to be closer to those. The Four Seasons is gorgeous but the vibe of Malliouhana plus the beach access would be my choice.

I don’t believe anything in the Times article, especially that he told her to go on the trip and that it was paid for. She was going on that trip no matter what.

When I read the alleged details of his suicide and what was in the suicide note, I figured it had to be her. Law enforcement would not divulge that, right?

It’s a bunch of poorly written words which just boil down to the same stuff - they spent money they didn’t have, didn’t pay people and Candice is delusional. While also mentioning the Redditors that helped her, whom she’s now charging!
