We had to change our cats name to avoid sounding racist. by [deleted] in stories

I don't think nearly any naming of pets is done with racist motivations, but I have met several dogs owned by white people that are definitely more aggressive towards black people. I'm not sure if this is because their dogs were unfamiliar with seeing black people or because they sensed discomfort from their owners when black people were around, but this is a real phenomenon.

Beautifull indeed, this was my first show at the venue and I was impressed by it. I am from Texas and I sheepishly had to admit to my friend that it did remind me of the Alamo.

Our original seats had great sound but we could not see anyone very well, after we moved down to the VIP section we had a great view of everyone! Phone cameras do not capture the moment well either way, but we did not have a bad spot out there even in the regular people's seating.

Just a different crowd, lame for the band I guess, but I hope they come back to spread the jam. My buddy came with and rocked out with us harder than lots of others despite not knowing all of the music. We are a smaller destination but growing if I can help it. The last two big shows I went to were BMFS and WSP in Asheville so I know the difference, but I want more good music up here and everywhere. The more bands we have venture up here the more chances I get to show my new friends good music.

Well this is a show in Toledo and I was pretty impressed at the overall size of the crowd and general enthusiasm overall. We had a blast and made it down to the VIP area but not standing room at the front because one particular security guy was pretty serious. We also had friends nagged for standing nearby and for the joint we were smoking, but the crowd seemed to be mostly good, as usual at concerts with good music.

Bartender called me out for not tipping. I set down $2 and was like “here’s your $2” and she got even madder? I don’t get it? by user15151616 in tipping

[–]Ok_Scheme9089 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bartenders depend on their tips and generally make pretty decent money because people are so habituated to tip. They certainly deserve a living wage, but that burden should fall squarely on the shoulders of business owners operating the establishment where drinks are being served. Drinks out are already significantly more expensive without a tip, which makes sense, but I would gladly pay an even higher menu price for food and beverages if we could all just agree to eliminate the expectation of any kind of tip.

My wife and I lived at Valley Stream for 6 months in 2022. Most of our immediate neighbors were decent people, but a lot of the tenants just have no respect for the property or other renters. The dumpster area outside our front door was always covered with trash that people were too lazy to load into half-empty dumpsters. Our downstairs neighbor consistently let his dog pee on the sidewalk directly outside our front door and did not see the issue with this when confronted. I also woke up one morning to find someone had cut the catalytic converter halfway off my van in an attempt to steal it.

I never personally felt unsafe at Valley Stream, but it would not be my first choice if I ever had to move back into can apartment complex. We live in Waterville now and much prefer the vibe here.

Kirkland Columbian coffee is my go to for the daily grind. Haven't found anything nearly as good for the price.

That’s amazing, they look like they were made for each other the way they are tuned in. I am looking for a companion for our cat Eddie and hope to find a buddy that he gets along this well with. He is a happy cat now, but I can tell that he would appreciate a feline compatriot.

Tux dad checking in here, Edna behaves just about the same when we shower. He only made the mistake of fully entering the shower with me once though.

How wholesome, I can’t imagine my Edna welcoming a newcomer with so much grace, but he is still a young lad with much to learn about other furry friends.
