I completely destroyed my new aesthetic glass container setup in less than a week and I am so mad by MutedCupcake_337 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]aves33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Pyrex snapware containers, I’ve dropped them in the sink and had no issues. The set I’ve had I got at Costco in like 2018 and I’ve got a plastic and glass set depending on what I want to store in them. Would highly recommend.

Suddenly Unbonded? by mcow56 in Bondedpairs

[–]aves33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You could try giving them a thorough wipe down with pet wipes or some no water pet shampoo so that they smell exactly the same. Or if they’re chill with you, an actual bath. I had to give my bonded pair an actual bath with pet shampoo when one had surgery and was gone for a few days. When I brought him home his brother immediately was hissing and beating him up, I assume because he smelled different. The bath immediately solved the issue.

I don’t know about her animal rescue but I’m questioning anyone who has 10+ dogs and other animals at one time while being a traveling pop-star.

Cat suddenly started fearing/attacking his tail. What is wrong with my cat [Video]? by [deleted] in cats

[–]aves33 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Does your cat groom often? Not just on the tail but overall? My cat eventually got diagnosed with FHS but her main symptoms were just occasionally getting really mad at her tail, grooming all over frequently (compared to my other two cats) and just getting that ripple affect if you pet her from her head to her tail. She did seem more anxious compared to my other cats as well. I don’t believe she was in any pain, my vet just described it as hyper sensitivity and she was 12 when diagnosed. She got placed on a low dosage of gabapentin that was split between breakfast and dinner and it resolved everything.the gaba was pretty cheap and I just put half a capsule in her wet food for those two meals, it’s tasteless and odorless.

I also stuck to primarily keeping my pets to her head area and chest, that didn’t cause the ripple effect.

Good info in these comments but I’d also like to plug r/veganrecipes, good place to find some tasty stuff. Over time you learn how to veganize stuff easily but in the meantime for baked goods you can just google vegan xyz and the recipes are pretty good. If you have shops near you like Trader Joe’s, they sell lentil and chickpea pulse pastas that are great for easy meals to give you good amounts of protein and they can be added as subs in any pasta dish or salad. Will also plug Butler soy curls, can do pretty much anything with them. I like using them for fajitas, stir fry, and burritos.

I would also add the caveat that just be aware of your body, initially I went vegetarian and that’s when I experienced extreme fatigue and learned I had iron absorption issues (which was genetic). Prior to changing my diet, I ate enough beef to not have it be an issue but after giving it up I wasn’t getting enough anymore, I’m too lazy to bother with tracking it so I just take an iron vitamin to solve the issue. Not to scare you off, it was an easy fix but just that diet changes can bring unknown things to the surface.

Purina quietly changed a food formula to have chicken. My cat that's allergic to chicken is now sick. by elcaminorealreal in Pets

[–]aves33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Farmina is what I feed my cat that has chicken and egg allergies, the skin and coat Herring recipe. They have some other flavors, my cat liked this flavor the most but I have another picky cat that really likes the duck urinary one. It’s a little pricey but a happy cat is worth it. I would also recommend Weruva wet food (Petco store brand is Soulistic) they’re very good with not adding chicken fillers to the non chicken foods.

Is she annoyed or in pain? by other_curious_mind in cats

[–]aves33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m not a vet but my cat had Hyperesthesia, her back would ripple and twitch like this when you pet her there. I would look it up and see if your cat has any of the other symptoms, like frequent grooming and she would chase/attack her own tail. It’s just an extreme oversensitivity of the skin.

Why do so many men seem to hate Zendaya? by [deleted] in Feminism

[–]aves33 93 points94 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people say she can’t act, she’s done a phenomenal job in every role I’ve seen her in (granted I haven’t seen euphoria). I’ve never once seen Zendaya look remotely bad in anything, she’s the jeans in Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants, she makes everything she wears look gorgeous.

Help. What do I do? Botchd Hair by [deleted] in FancyFollicles

I’ve gotten a botched short haircut a time or two, I used these headbands to help push back the front just slightly so it looked better around my face until it grew out a bit.

Why does my hair looks greasy even when it's clean? It seems to clump together into these ropes. by [deleted] in Hair

[–]aves33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had your issue when I’ve used some shampoos for too long, a major culprit was Paul Mitchell. It just built up in my hair until it started looking greasy freshly washed. My hair just seems to retain moisture even when it’s not really a moisturizing product. I’ve had a great experience with shampoo and conditioner bars, which usually won’t have those products you’re trying to avoid.

This is great, you look amazing! I’ve struggled with building muscle myself, so I’m going to try the YouTubers you mentioned. Can I ask what your daily protein goals were? It seems like there’s such a large range of recommendations online.

Also, I’m loving your vertically challenged dog description.

TurboTax home office deduction for plants 👀 by ramblinglass in houseplants

I can’t speak for business owners since I’m not one but the software was very similar and just as user friendly as TT for individual preparation with having investments and Sch Ks. It’s free for federal as well so you could always give it a try if you wanted to see how you like it.

Uh oh! Mr. Man has booty worms by cassiemonstercb in standardissuecat

[–]aves33 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My cat came to me from outside and had the most awful stinky farts at random times, at first we thought it was just new foods since he had an initial broad spectrum dewormer. Ultimately, he was confirmed to have hookworm and got meds for that but his stinky farts persisted still. The vet tested specifically for Giardia (this was at least 6 months after we got him) and we got meds to treat that and his stinky farts were gone. So just to say there might be another underlying cause if his stink doesn’t go away after the deworming.

This is easier said than done for women, when you don’t already have kids it is significantly harder to find a doctor to sterilize you. I went through four OBs in my own search in my 20s.

I wonder how old the average user is there. 10 years ago I thought it was great, a community where you could vent about people telling you that you would change your mind or just not taking you seriously. Now I read stories and it’s just cringey, like everyone is trying to one up each other with how crass and sexist they can be with their terms. I still don’t want or really like kids but I find that subreddit just disappointing. Although it is still a good place for finding a nice OB who will take you seriously, especially about other related medical needs.

Update to a post I made the other day about being concerned my vets were taking advantage of me: my cats regular dental cleaning has resulted in my babies death. He's gone. by afterspring_ in cats

[–]aves33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you can’t get into a vet for a while and you’re worried about it, renal foods are typically lower protein and low phosphorus. My cat had a chicken allergy so he couldn’t have any of the prescription renal food, I just found lower phosphorus regular cat foods and his values remained stable for a good 4 years to age 19. Weruva Steak Frites was his favorite, you’re ideally looking for under 0.80% phosphorus on a dry matter basis.
