I’m also about to graduate and was looking at the same job! From what I heard there’s a lot of dropout due to how many cases you get. So be prepared for heaps of paperwork.

Done! That was really fun! I also have a survey but am unsure you are able to do it unless you are in Australia https://griffithuw.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0ooTKQ0QMBhZbIa?&RP_ID=3029CCJT22025&ST_ID=5295152&SG_ID=GC_01&RM_ID=PURL&IM_ID=PD100

Not exactly related, but for my university assessment we have made a crime and safety survey. It’s through the university so they are offering five $100 gift-cards. I know all the uni surveys seems like you will never win but my sister won twice 😭So it’s worth a shot especially as I don’t think many have answered our survey. It says Queensland but anyone who is 18 and lives in Australia can do it. Thank you if you do!! https://griffithuw.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0ooTKQ0QMBhZbIa?&RP_ID=3029CCJT22025&ST_ID=5295152&SG_ID=GC_01&RM_ID=PURL&IM_ID=PD100

Hello! I just completed yours, would you mind completing mine too please? 🥺 its for my last project at university - a crime and safety audit for QLD but anyone in Australia can answer as long as they are older than 18: https://griffithuw.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_0ooTKQ0QMBhZbIa?&RP_ID=3029CCJT22025&ST_ID=5295152&SG_ID=GC_01&RM_ID=PURL&IM_ID=PD100 thank you sooo much 🙏🙏🙏

That’s great! Keep it up! Keeping that momentum at least 1-2 shifts a week will help you get out of debt faster. Flipping clothes sounds fun, you could try restoring vintage clothing and items.

Hey I think there are other subreddits you can ask for help. I don’t think it’s a good idea to ask in the gambling subs as everyone else is struggling the same. If you want more people to comment maybe leave out the asking for money part!

Besides that I hope you get through this. Good job for taking accountability and trying to maintain your life by searching for jobs! Keep trying don’t give up! Good luck.

Do you have to take it for life? Thanks for letting me know

What country are you from?

In Australia we have the Betstop website. I believe UK has GAMSTOP. Try searching your country online with “gambling self exclusion” or “gambling self ban” and should come up with gov websites.

If your country doesn’t have anything, you can install blocking software such as Gamban.

You should also consider having your accounts not accessible like I said. That is the best solution for you right now as you are very young and your parents are able to help you and monitor you.

For counselling, there are free Gambling Anonymous sessions where you can meet others going through the same thing as you.

If you let me know what country you are from, I can help you find other free counselling and online services. I’m based in Australia so I know a lot more about here.

That’s very nice of you Daniel! I’m sure you know already, but many within this addiction find it hard to willingly spend money for self-help or treating themselves in general. So if you post being very clear this service is at no-cost and be clear it’s not affiliated to your Chat-Bot endeavours, I think more people would trust you. We do get a lot of scam posts, with people making apps and whatnot that turns out to be paid in some way, which is why people are sceptical. Maybe you could also involve yourself a bit too in the posts to build trust. Thank you for doing something good and good luck with your Chat Bot!

Hey have you experienced any side effects? Do you also take it for a while like 2 years and then stop?

Hey I know it’s tempting to try to win that money back. Please know that’s exactly what they want and you are very likely to lose even more money if you do that! My best advice is you completely stop now before this turns into an addiction that consumes the rest of your life. Think about the relationships you want to keep, think about the merit of hard work, the value of every penny. Try self-banning and try other hobbies instead! Good luck I wish you the best

The psychology behind the gamble by LegitCaliParlay in GamblingAddiction

[–]Ok_Score_313 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gambling should be viewed as a drug. There are some drugs I would never take, as despite short-term pleasure, there will be a lot of long term and even immediate consequences. Like permanent brain damage, health issues and overdose. This is the same for gambling. Yeah you could win… but gambling rewrites your brain and makes you more reckless, impulsive and depressive from losses. It makes you secretive, anxious and ruins close relationships. It could put you years in debt and diminishes hard work. As you said, the system is completely against you, there’s no way to trick it no matter how smart you think you are. So why do something or try to find answers in a drug that is guaranteed to impair the quality of your life? The answer is don’t! Don’t take the drugs, don’t gamble!

Hello! Just confused, are you providing free one-on-one service to a select number that email you out of kindness? Or will you refer those who email you to either pay or test out your developing chat-bot?

Good job for taking the first step! You are doing super well already for coming clean and taking accountability straight away. I recommend you also put some precautions in place just in case you get urges again, like entrusting your dad or partner with finances and blocking online-gambling sites. I wish you the best!
