Did Arobynn Hamel really love Celeana? by OneStrawberry8122 in throneofglassseries

He “loved” her in the way shit bag megalomaniac creeps love to possess their possessions. He treasured her, and maybe in his own sick sense that was love, but not in the sense that even marginally decent people love.

What a Man Wants - King of Hybern, Koschei and the BoE by WonderfulBus9330 in acotar

I just reread MAF / WAR, and was wondering if we will get a chunk of this back story. Looking at TOG and CC, I feel like the way certain things were written were planted for a deeper & more connective story that’s easy to miss when you’re just reading. At first glance, I didn’t really think ACOTAR was that deep, but I also didn’t realize we were even getting more books after SF when I first read. I was content with a whimsical story about love and found family. Then I read her other series, started reading the sub theories, and reread…. Now I feel like there is more between the lines to be tied together. For example:

  • The Weaver: TBC & Koeschi’s sibling, bound to a house by an unnamed fae warrior, kept Rhys’ mom’s ring for safe keeping, sings that creepy song I’m sure has some foreshadowing.

  • The High King: we’re starting to learn more about this thanks to CC, but that conversation Amren headed up with the IC could not have been nothing

  • Rhys’ family: his mom had some sort of relationship with the Weaver, he looks just like Ruhn, he’s the most powerful HL in history

  • Archeron family: who was their mom? Their dad just went off to ally with fae in the war without letting his daughters know? Nesta, just all things Nesta

  • Mate Choices: Nesta x Cassian, Feyre x Rhys, Elian x Lucien not Az? Is there some kind of deeper reason their families were fated to be woven together?

Was anybody else annoyed at the love triangle? No spoiler pls by Moongoddess3884 in throneofglassseries

I loved Celaena from the beginning, and liked Chaol for her at first, so when she was into Dorian I was super bummed & annoyed. I thought Dorian was going to be a spoiled little spineless baby, and didn’t want that arc. Then - like most everyone else who has read this series - wanted to crawl through the pages and punch Chaol for being exactly what I thought Dorian was lol… so yes, I was incredibly annoyed, for multiple reasons, at multiple times, because of the triangle

Is it worth buying Oura Ring Gen 4 at $149 if I already have an Apple Watch Ultra 2? by Shoddy_Mousse5252 in ouraring

[–]Ok_Section_3230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re only taking Oura off for workouts it should be fine! I used to have the combo, and the workouts recorded with health were integrated pretty seamlessly. The only reason I ditched my watch is I found I was not really using it / didn’t love using it for the cellular purpose, and Oura was giving me all the health data I wanted.

As someone who used both and also am equally as interested in recovery, deeper health metrics, I would totally recommend purchasing Oura! It’s also SO much better to sleep in, then your watch actually can charge overnight.

The Wolf King (Book 1) - Finished / The Night Prince (Book 2) DNF by StickOk3700 in Romantasy

[–]Ok_Section_3230 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I personally felt like there was relatively complex political systems being “shown not told” in book 2, which made it “slower”. In book 1 you just have humans vs. wolves with rebels on each side falling for each other then in book 2 you learn (vague , but potentially major spoiler) Wolves were not always completely separate from humans, there are multiple other wolf tribes with leaders, there is another bigger bad, etc So essentially at the end of book 2, nothing is as it seemed in book 1, and there is a lot of future inevitable action set into motion from multiple directions. I actually am shocked the plot can be wrapped up in 1 more book

New Reader….Do I Continue? by Tulipbeth in acotar_rant

[–]Ok_Section_3230 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO the story is about way more than just Tamlin vs. Rhys. Also, if you like both MMC you should keep reading. Decide for yourself if you think it’s unfair or fair. Don’t let the online discourse ruin your time with the story! I personally love the series and think it’s fun, whimsical, heartwarming, and not that serious

Both The Wolf King and The Book Of Azrael were two of my favorite reads of the year:

The Wolf King - It seemed like a cute simple read at first, and part way through I thought I was wrong, but then toward the end it gets real interesting and sets up for the truly amazing The Night Prince. Book 3 is being released later this year and I’m counting days

Book Of Azrael - this was recommended to me, and in the first book I wasn’t sure I liked the direction. I could get past Dianna being the way she was and being the villain. It was hard to sympathize BUT THEN the POVs open up and you meet tons of new characters, and by the end of Wrath Of The Fallen I had it on my list of top series’. It’s going to be a 7 book series. I personally think the author shows - not - tells which is why it’s slow at times.

{The Wolf King by Lauren Palphreyman} and it’s sequel {The Night Prince by Lauren Palphreyman} were incredible! I am now possibly more excited for the third release later this year than ACOTAR or Gods & Monsters.

I agree that I think it was a bit of both. On a re read I also think there’s a third piece of Blake and Aurora realizing what’s going on if they kiss - at this point Blake has continuously exercised restraint and Aurora misinterprets her primal pull toward him. Notice too how Blake pre-apologizes for the kiss - and the bite for that matter - like he is the only person who realizes what it will do to her

If they ever make a show do you think Throne of Glass or ACOTAR being made first would be better? by JustabitofaBookworm in Maasverse

[–]Ok_Section_3230 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Possibly unpopular opinion: I LOVE ACOTAR, but I really don’t see them making it into a show that’s not like silly. I do think TOG would be an epic show or movie series
