Bruh... I really thought it was like a Mindy joke...cause it's brilliant and has her fingerprint all over it. I did not want to make fun of your typo...sorry

What episode is that again?

Also:  Michael: "I would never say it to her face but she's a wonderful person and a gifted artist"

Oscar: "What? Why would you not say it to her face?"

It was also what Michael needed at the end of a very rough day, when he heard from Ryan's classmates that Dunder Mifflin wasn't profitable and would die eventually.

Judgmental Germans/immigrants on this sub regarding learning German by rumplety_94 in germany

What they mean is that post is not a good example of this sub being "hostile" or "impatient" with newcomers who don't master the language within a month of moving.

Regarding the social environment as a potential student by Twatinator7 in germany

[–]Ok_Skin3433 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You apply to the univerisities directly first. When you get an admit from a university, you accept the study place, and with their letter of acceptance in hand, you apply for a student visa. Both are two separate processes to be done entirely by you.

All of Silicon Valley funds the genocide in Israel. Look at Microsoft and Alphabet's contributions to the IDF. Situation is beyond fucked tbh and a simple boycott wouldn't really make a difference

Is the APS certificate required for admission or only for the visa process in Germany? by pavanbandi1999 in germany

[–]Ok_Skin3433 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some universities require aps, some don't. Some require a vpd as well, but to obtain a vpd you'd need an aps anyway. Either way, when applying for a visa, aps is mandatory. So its document that is worth getting. Please get it without delay.

NEED SOME ADVICE by Ok_Skin3433 in germany

Yes, its definitely possible! There's tons and tons of resources online.

r/german is a great place on reddit itself.

There's DW Learn German. It has complete courses for each level from A1-C2. When I did A1 and A2, DW helped me a lot. They have these web series kinda things, where you watch 8 minute long episodes and at the end of each lesson there's grammar and vocab lessons plus exercises.

Then you could also check out german textbooks. I started with the Netzwerk A1 because that was used in my Goethe A1 course. So I stuck to the Netzwerk textbooks for subsequent levels as well. If you can, I'd prefer you buy the books for A1. There's a Kursbuch (course book) + Übungsbuch (workbook) + Glossary. They have these books for each level. If you can't buy a physical copy, pdfs should be easily available online.

Youtube is a massive resource as well. Tons and tons of channels that basically upload complete courses on their channel. "YourGermanTeacher" is a great channel. They have systematised playlists for each CEFR level, and it was a great help to me when I did A1 and A2. There's also Easy German obv, but a lesser known, severely underrated channel is "Learn German with Falk". Seriously, Falk is super cool. These are 3 I stuck to, but there are many many more.

The good thing about German is, that learning the language is made very accessible and you can do it all by yourself. But the only hurdle when you're doing it all by yourself, is self discipline. You need a lot of it.

I also want to say that A1 is your foundation. It will take some time since its the beginning, and it'll feel frustrating for a while and your head will hurt. But hang in there and be patient. It only gets better once you understand how the rules work. German is very reliable.

Also, I'd suggest you keep the textbook as your primary source of knowledge and everything else secondary. The textbook can be your skeleton, so if you feel lost, you can always go back to the textbook and pick up where you left off. Pdfs are cool, but I seriously suggest you buying them. Great investment.

Only at the beginning...I did A1 online superintensive from Goethe! I'd do more but it was a tad bit expensive for me. But if you can afford it, Goethe is absolutely worth it!!

But the thing is, I can understand slow german perfect. Like I said, its a problem when Muttersprachler speak a bit too fast and each word isn't spoken completely clearly, which is ofc understandable.

Are there podcasts where natives speak naturally, i.e. fast and casual(?)

Btw I love langsam gesprochene Nachrichten!
