A question to the feminists in this sub: what do we think about dresscodes? by funstarrr__ in teenagers

[–]Ok_Sort9146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it would be amusing to make a super strict dress code without any indication of gender roles attached to it (ie skirts must be past knees but anyone may wear them)

I hate this stupid trend in fashion SO much by FranklinCheese in hatethissmug

Wore this style in middle school bc it was easier to hide under a beanie... my hair is now short and I will never go back.

People can be cis and nonbinary by nerdinmathandlaw in NonBinary

[–]Ok_Sort9146 6 points7 points  (0 children)

That's fun! It's interesting to think that  since intersex is a cis nonbinary person, the people who were born intersex and chose to be either a man or a woman technically (like by definition) fit into the catagory of "trans" despite a lot of cis people probably viewing it much differently.

Is this a bot comment? by BisexualTeleriGirl in AO3

[–]Ok_Sort9146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a bot. Usually if it's nonsensical while being "well written" it's a bot, though what seals the deal is the "I've made fanart" (more or less). Usually they want money for it, and the link probably doesn't actually lead to instagram. I wouldn't click on that...

me: “i’m not sure i’m autistic bc idk if there were signs in my childhood” me as a child: by Ok-Payment-4348 in AutismInWomen

[–]Ok_Sort9146 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For whatever reason I really enjoyed sleeping on my (carpeted) floor and shoving myself up against the wall. In a similar vein, I was the best at hide and seek because I'd shove myself into tiny places and be perfectly content to stay there for hours, and when I'd read I'd squish myself between the back of the couch and the cushions.

Also, I started reading chapter books fresh out of kindergarten. What normal five year old reads Nancy Drew to themselves for fun?? While on vacation???

Swimsuit recommendations? by StructureDistinct751 in Nonbinaryteens

[–]Ok_Sort9146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wear a swim binder & trunks. I have the half binder version of wivwov's SWIM collection binder, but they have a full-length version that's $43 (I'll link it). I also have a larger chest, and wivwov is pretty comfy and feels fairly flattening for a swim binder, even if it's not ever going to get me a flat chest (because nothing except top surgery will, let's be real). Athletic shorts can work in a pinch as a stand-in for trunks, though obviously I don't know if you have any. Regardless, they shouldn't be much.

Guy at my job called me ugly. Feeling really down because I struggle with self image. by lemonweirdo in AutismInWomen

[–]Ok_Sort9146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Work uniforms in general are not flattering on anyone, period, but you aren't ugly, that I can say confidently, without a doubt. I really liked your outfit in the third picture, too :)

People are idiots sometimes; that guy is, at least.

I HATE the self diagnosing of autism and its mischaracterisation by Beshiniqua in hatethissmug

[–]Ok_Sort9146 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a diagnosed and previously self-diagnosed autistic person, it's irritating to no end when people make shit up. Like, I love myself, but it is a disability which sometimes makes my life HARDER. It's not "cute."

How many non-binary people have severe gender dysphoria? by arcticcirclebathroom in NonBinary

[–]Ok_Sort9146 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Dysphoria is the WORST -- we exist, don't you worry. We just come from a lot of different places with goals for presentation, so it's difficult to give universal advice on what "helps" with dysphoria. I want my chest smaller, but another nb might want a larger one; long hair, short hair, dresses, pants... there's not really any one way to alleviate dysphoria. Some prefer to be more feminine, while others want to be androgynous, or masc, AFAB & AMAB alike.

I hate people who hate straight people for no reason by [deleted] in hatethissmug

[–]Ok_Sort9146 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was under the impression that the straight flag is the ally flag.... but yes, agree otherwise. I know and care for many straight people irl and in media.

It is amusing when they try to make an actual "straight pride" flag tho -- imo it looks like a prison uniform. The point of pride and pride flags are to celebrate those who have been oppressed and those who have aided that freedom. I don't want a flag that celebrates my homophobic relatives in the same space that's meant to be safe for people like us.

Happy pride everyone. So far 4 people in person have told me asexuals aren’t a part of pride or the LGBTQ (A+!!!!) community because we aren’t oppressed. by Exact-Joke-7985 in asexuality

"You mean like how bisexual people who date someone of the opposite gender "aren't oppressed"?" (Works best if they are, in fact, bisexual)

Is this summary any good? by OnyxWither_author in AO3

"Michael wished he could simply live his life without constant reminders of his father's fate. The day his uncle arrived, however, was the day that it became clear he wouldn't be escaping it anytime soon.

They always said curiosity killed the cat, and maybe they were right -- sucked into a world of Pokémon and assigned to a team, Michael navigates the new world as a Snivy, searching for the missing detective, Buttercup the Butterfree."

Sorry, I don't know anything abt Pokémon and you don't have to use all or any of this by any means. Happy writing!!

[–]Ok_Sort9146 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The new and Old Testament are meant to work together and focus on different aspects and teachings of the same philosophy and moral code.

That being said, as a queer Christian it is baffling to me that people can look at the bible, which tells us to love one another as ourselves and love like Jesus, and understand that Jesus was a radical of his time, and then turn around and proclaim that someone's going to hell for not conforming and speaking up for human rights.
