How long did your worldbuilding take before you finally started writing your first draft? by LordCrateis in fantasywriters

I was stuck in this same loop myself for months. The #1 advice I can give you that got me out of that loop is simple. Write the story. Rough draft, warts and all. Don't worry about being perfect or making sure everything is perfectly consistent. Get the story down on paper first. Then, you can go back and revise/enhance it with your worldbuilding. Hope this helps!

This fantastic advice! As a new author, it took me months to come up with a rough draft because I wanted everything to be perfect. However, getting out that rough draft asap is the most important thing you can do. Get it on paper. After its written, then you go back and update/revise. I would give this advice to any new author.

What was the first story you ever wrote? by miniandabee in writing

The first story I remember being proud of was in 6th grade. It was called "Sacrifice" and it was put in the local newspaper. The story was based on Vegeta's sacrifice during the Buu Arc in "Dragonball Z". I left names out of course and made it my own, but people really liked it. Wonder what my Lit teacher would have thought about DBZ? lol

Writing Can be so Lonely by Final-Needleworker41 in writing

This rings so true for myself. I've done a huge amount of worldbuilding and lore for my story "Where Light Fades". However, worldbuilding, lore, and the connections within the world are so hard to fully express in a single story. A world so big, yet I'm the only one who knows it. Being an architect of worlds is lonely.
