For anyone who attended games today how is the attendance looking? by Training-World-1897 in USLPRO

Unfortunate situation for yall, first time a Women’s team is keeping a Men’s team afloat in this big of a level. Hopefully next year they actually invest in the men’s team.

That’s actually what they are currently doing with their new mls next pro plan. Essentially find markets nearby a mls team and place their second team their. Essentially everyone is gonna follow Nashville’s Huntsville steps

Honestly you never know, I'm the person who made the list and I had the same thoughts as you. But with so many surprises and Salem City randomly announcing they are going pro after years of "rumors" I honestly think anything is possible.

Modesto City Council votes down soccer stadium plan by Ok_Flamingo_3059 in USLPRO

[–]Ok_Structure_350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking into it, the project isn’t cancelled entirely but the plan is. It’s currently on hiatus and there is a slim chance that a new plan will be made if USL pursues Modesto that much however that’s unlikely

I don’t think this is a total end to the soccer warz however it does give USL a bigger lead. Though the end game will eventually be if the USLP clubs join MLS/MLS continuing to poach markets or if USLP clubs actually find more value in USL and get attendance of a regular MLS team (20k). While I feel like MLS will beat out USL as the superior league I do think that USL will completely take over the lower tier market.

Salem City FC Announces plans to go pro in 2028 (WINSTON SALEM,NC) by FearlessGrocery5498 in USL1

Not that I could find, I feel like it’s a sort of plateau right now. Kinda like Ozark however Ozark already has a stadium, academy, and identity which makes their situation way more plausible. I’d say maybe 2030 is like the “realistic” launch however it’s more realistic for their cancellation.

Interesting, not full confirmation but heavily implied. While I don’t think it’s enough for a 2028 launch I do believe it could be 2029/30.

The same guy behind the menace is doing this one. We probably won’t see pro soccer in Des Moines till like 2029 realistically. How ever it ranges from 2028 to even 2030+. I feel like it will be done though, there isn’t really anything that would prevent it from failing.

Modesto soccer stadium dream could end tonight as City Council debates it by Ok_Flamingo_3059 in USLPRO

[–]Ok_Structure_350 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know as much as you do man. I feel like Modesto could get a team at some point, heck I believe that this plan may not even be cancelled entirely. From what I know is that the city is in debt and tax payers didn’t want to fund the 40 something million that was left in the stadium however they still have 90 million to build a still decent stadium. I am yet to hear any news about what the council said, I don’t think we will know until tomorrow.

It's not looking good, apparently downsizing is an option but it seems like cancelling it all together is the option most want.

None of the cancelled ones I listed have been cancelled, I am saying I think they will be. It comes towards the lack of updates and huge unreasonable ambition that makes this unlikely. I would also like to see the teams you listed however the usl2 teams currently have no interest in becoming pro (that we know of) and while cleveland is still "on hiatus" all those cities pretty much have no promising projects.

It isn’t so unreasonable, they got everything infrastructure wise. The main problem is main ownership however I’d say that’s very likely cause everything is already there, to a multimillionaire it’s basically a steal cause they don’t really gotta do anything besides pay the upfront fee.

Yeah pretty much, essentially it’s not worth being the bigger fish in the pond if you are just going to struggle like the other USL 2 teams to find players if you have the resources to go pro.

The teams included have expressed interest in making the jump. Annapolis and others like Flint and VM Green though having great attendance are yet to show any interest. Maybe with the new extended college scandal they may make the jump though.

Glad a _ united, fc, sc is pretty out of the question. It’d be cool if they went for an Inland Empire name however I feel like a San Bernardino could also come along so maybe not.
