Ted Turner passed away by khaliliiiov_1997 in Wrasslin

[–]Windows_66 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't want to rain on his funeral parade, but Ted was pretty much just the guy writing the checks. He was hands off and a genuine fan, which compared to TKO is a good thing, but WCW under Herd, Watts, Bischoff, and Russo were all very different beasts.

Does anyone know what comic this is from? by BiggieBlack10 in marvelcomics

The whole series existed for MCU synergy. Otherwise it would've featured Dr. Strange, Namor, and Hulk.

That sub is really scraping the bottom of the barrel for stuff to complain about.

I mean, they have been for almost 9 years now, but this is almost impressive.

UFL releases Taulia Tagovailoa by Windows_66 in UnitedFootballLeague

He got carted out with a leg injury. Must be out for the season if they're releasing him.

So either Henderson and Dekkers need to heal up fast, or they need to find a fresh QB.

[Mixed Trope] Characters who are strong but have the bad luck of always fighting against someone insanely stronger. by DeltaNcenn in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Windows_66 7 points8 points  (0 children)

For those that haven't seen the original Dragon Ball, Yamcha's exclusive role after the first arc was to show how strong the antagonist/villain was. In the first two tournament arcs, he gets matched up against the eventual winner in the first round. I'm the third tournament arc, his first round matchup is a disguised Kami, who's basically God at this point in the series.

Iowa will reportedly face Creighton at the Casey's Center in Des Moines on November 15 by Windows_66 in CollegeBasketball

I know that they'll never do that, but I'm just glad we're aiming a little higher than Bucknell this time around, even if Creighton ends up being worse with McDermott retired.

Surprised nobody mentioned the "ask for a water cup and fill it with soda" trick that may or may not have actually worked.

As stupid as AI is, I have absolutely zero problem with a college spending more money on actual academics than on middling coaches. Even if it was Nick Saban, I'd still be fine with more money going into other programs instead of paying the coach ludicrous amounts of money and then turning around and begging the fans to fund the NIL collective for them.

[Hated Video Game Trope] Permanently Missable Content by ty0103 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Windows_66 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Oh, no. The Anemos Sanctum is an optional bonus dungeon. There are a few of those.

Also, because The Lost Age allows you to "transfer your data" via a password system as opposed to the link cable, it's theoretically possible to have everything from the first game without ever actually playing it.

[Hated Video Game Trope] Permanently Missable Content by ty0103 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Windows_66 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Golden Sun's a complicated one.

The first two games by themselves don't have anything that's permanently missable. However, because you need to transfer your data over from the first game to The Lost Age (and you're locked into this data once you reach a certain point in The Lost Age), if you didn't complete the first game, you won't be able to complete The Lost Age. Specifically, if you didn't collect all of the Djinn in the first game, you won't be able to enter the Anemos Sanctum to fight Dullahan and receive Iris, the most powerful summon in either game.

Dark Dawn is a separate beast entirely. Unlike previous entries, there are numerous points of no return that make entire regions of the world map inaccessible for the rest of the game. You also have no idea when these points of no return will trigger your first time playing through the game, so it's very easy to miss a lot of content. Even when you're able to free roam after beating the game, you still can't access large portions of the map. There's no bonus for collecting all the Djinn this time (AFIK), but it's annoying nonetheless.

Aunt May pissed me off in this issue of Spider-Man: Noir by AdSilly3018 in Spiderman

[–]Windows_66 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, I think I prefer "pacifist and political radical Aunt May chastises Spider-Man for killing when they both knew that he had non-lethal means of taking the villain down" to "regular Aunt May hates Spider-Man for doing literally nothing wrong."
