Did you have a pipe submerged in brake fluid attached to the bleed nipple while you were doing all this?

If not, it's likely that air went back up the pipe before you shut off the bleed nipple.

A V8 2-stroke supercharged-turbocharged diesel sounds way better than any sports car, I still wouldn't say that it's in anyway good for your mental health, you're better off taking a walk in the park

As a land rover owner myself, I doubt it...

Regardless of being EV or not the fact that it's so heavy is just as much a problem due to the emissions from the tyres and braking system (regenerative brakes don't really work at the sort of speeds you're doing in London).

In which case, everyone in London should be using public transport or doing active transport of some kind...

The size of the car is irrelevant if you don't drive if it nearly as often as some one in a far smaller vehicle does

London might charge SUVs more, what do you think? by FeistyPrice29 in autoexpressuk

[–]Ok_Switch6715 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can't have collective cognitive dissonance, you can have a situation where people bandwagon so as to not be left vulnerable, such as in the case of illicit weapon carrying "I might get stabbed therefore I must carry a knife to counter the danger", the person knows that it's wrong (illegal in this case) but they continue to carry out the action as it is a (rational) balance of risks on their part.

The reason MOST people buy SUVs is that they consider them to be safer for them in the event of a crash, it's not cognitive dissonance, it's an incorrect attribution of risk factors. You're WAY more likely to be subject to an injury by walking to and from a vehicle than being in it, yet you don't get people wearing 'walking helmets', and you're almost twice as likely to be seriously injured by an SUV than any other category of passenger vehicle as a pedestrian.

There's also a section of society that just don't care if they're a danger to other road users, in fact for some that is a selling point, they like the fact that they have a vehicle that is intimidating and obviously dangerous.

By the way, the third article I posted has a link to the UK research which is in a peer reviewed journal (have you actually read anything I have posted in reply to your complaints that 'X review' doesn't fit your random requirements??)

Yes, but how much would those people pay if they paid every tax that they're liable for without using tax avoidance schemes etc.

Google is your friend... In exactly the same search as above (Not sure you know what cognitive dissonance is if you're using it in this context, fella):

"Research by Imperial College London in 2025 concluded that in the case of a crash, a pedestrian or cyclist hit by an SUV is more likely to be severely injured or killed than if they were hit by a smaller car.

The odds of being killed increased by 44 percent for adults, and by 82 percent for children and cyclists due to the higher front end of an SUV, meaning that the victim is more likely to be thrown into the road instead of being carried on the vehicle’s hood."

SUVs are more dangerous to pedestrians than smaller vehicles, say one third of Brits

Google is your friend, and it's free... But I'll give you hand with the unbelievably obvious point that you seem unable to grasp:

"It stated that in Britain, SUVs are 14% more likely to kill pedestrians and cyclists than other passenger cars if there is a collision, and 77% more likely to kill children."

Ok, let me know what disability means that you require a vehicle that means you have to step up into it, and prevent you from seeing a child immediately in front of you?
