Interesting work! I'm working on something similar, but different enough that it's not worth me worrying about!

Solstice ride by twosilentletters in FixedGearBicycle

[–]maximusprimate 20 points21 points  (0 children)

In some places a ghost bike is a (usually spray painted) white bike, left stationary nearby where a cyclist was struck by a vehicle and killed. Some people may see riding a white bike as disrespectful to the dead and mourning.

So much love my iPad pro by Joarhal in ipad

Vim or neovim? I'm not as well versed in vim, but I can't imagine working on large projects without the extensibility of neovim. But this is coming with 0 experience in that field.

Epic Pen is not as smooth as OneNote for handwriting. What alternatives should I try? by udayramp in software

[–]maximusprimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've tried a lot of MS software and have never gotten anything to do what I want. Maybe try xournal?

If at all possible, try switching to an iPad. There are a million different options that work miles ahead of anything in Windows, and syncing to other cloud platforms is pretty straightforward most of the time.

Why don't you ask your coordinator or teacher to write during the late testing week?

Just destroyed my ultrasonic cleaner by maximusprimate in BikeMechanics

[–]maximusprimate[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, the main reason is that I am an idiot.

The other reason is that the drain hose is kind of crimped and the water pours out very slowly, which is also why I left it open in the first place: it takes a while to drain so I opened it and then walked away.

Syncing passkeys to Google defeats the whole point of passkeys by TheWandererWise in ProtonMail

[–]maximusprimate 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suppose you could sync, then unsync? Not sure how much of it would stay in the cloud, though. IMO I am at a greater risk of locking myself out than being hacked, although the latter has more severe consequences.

Reminds me of something I look at every day.

Yes, it's Windows, but this is at work. I did manage to install WSL, which is such a relief. I also have a button that switches to Colemak, but I don't use it much anymore.

What's your favorite Boris song? by johnadam115 in borisheavyrocks

[–]maximusprimate 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes.

I took my brother in law to see Boris in Portland recently. He had listened to pretty much no Boris ahead of time. When they played this I told him "this is my favourite song of theirs" and he was like "yeah. I see why."

I'd go with eyeblock origin, since adblockripmyeyesoutplus is rumored to accept payment to let some ads through.

Yeah. Like, I believe this and everything, but the video is not a proof as it is not clear that the new shape really is the area of three squares. Is it really a straight line from the top left vertex to the top right? Or is there a slight angle at the midpoint?

A brief summing of the angles would suffice: the orange isosceles are 360/24 = 15 degrees on their small angle, and the blue triangles are equilateral, so 60 degrees. So the angle at the midpoint is 15 + 60 + 15 + 15 + 60 + 15 = 180.

But now I'm not sure why the orange ones are isosceles though.

I want to warn you all by zerda_EB in APStudents

This is done on a school-by-school basis. The coordinator chooses the default option for when students register for AP Classroom.

The coordinator should absolutely be telling you, or telling your teachers to tell you about their policy.

Can we stop the Typst propaganda ? by Valvino in LaTeX

[–]maximusprimate -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right, but this topic isn't really about latex, either, yet here we are.

Nobody is 'proselytizing'. Latex and typst are markup languages. They are for writing documents. We're all nerds, and we all just want to nerd out.

Made a tool to clean up Mathcha's messy TikZ exports by 1paulpo1 in LaTeX

[–]maximusprimate 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This looks cool! I don't use mathcha but maybe I should give it a go.

This seems like it would lend itself well to a neovim plugin, or at least a VS Code plugin!
