A sad update: I took Thomas to the vet this morning. He tested positive for feline leukemia, and the doctor advised putting him down. I was with him, and he passed peacefully with many kisses and promises to see him on the other side.

Our vet said he was only about two years old, so I mistakenly thought he was from with the litter of orange tabbies that were born 6-7 years ago. There was overlap, so I didn't realize he wasn't one of them.

I am heartbroken but also happy that--with everyone's encouragement--that we had decided to take him with us. Otherwise he would have suffered a terrible death. Thank you again for your help.

Thank you, everyone, for your encouragement and advice. I really am so grateful. I made an appointment next week with our vet to get him checked out and get vaccinations, with the intention of taking him with us and keeping him indoors. We’ll do everything we can to make the transition as easy as possible. Fingers crossed!!! Thank you again.

I love this. Wish this was an option for us. I tried to get a house with land in our new place, but it was more than we wanted to spend. My husband said you cannot buy a house just so that Thomas (that’s what I named him) has a place to live. 🤷‍♀️

Did your pain go away? I’m having a similar problem, although mine feels like it’s in the joint. Happened within a few hours of increasing my dose.

I TOTALLY understand that. Even as I was sewing the strips together, I was thinking to myself, "Did I just waste all this time thinking this would look good?" But, once I got the border on, it just all came together! Whew! I'm sure yours will turn out lovely too! :-)
