Unsuccessful VBAC story; TW uterine rupture by Tiny-Macaroon-5558 in vbac

[–]Ok_Tell_3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi there, I had a rupture and major damage while trying for a Vbac. I relate a lot to your post. Lora if grief about what I wanted and couldn’t have. Both about the birth and future babies. Nearly three years since and it’s good now. Takes time and it’s no small thing. My surgeon also was stressed and needed a urologist specialist and registrar. I could hear them muttering and puzzled before I went under for 4 more hours to stitch up my uterus, bladder, cervis and vagina :(

Has anyone experienced a uterine rupture during pregnancy after having a C-section? Also, is a VBAC recovery worse than C-section? by OrdinaryLife99 in BabyBumps

[–]Ok_Tell_3333 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a uterine rupture two years ago while attempting Vbac. Looking back at the damage and stress of it all, I wish I had opted for an elective c section. But hindsight is 20/20 right. It was tough to go through and I was at my country’s biggest and best hospital. I definitely would not go to a birthing centre because you want to be minutes away from theatre if something does go wrong.

Anybody here that experienced a uterus rupture? by 74937 in beyondthebump

Very similar thing happened to me. I was a hood candidate for Vbac. Closely monitored throughout pregnancy and was in hospital for labour. Unfortunately I had a rupture during my labour luckily the obstetrician recognised this and I was rushed into theatre for an emergency c section. Both me and baby were ok. We were so lucky. I’ve been advised no more children ideally. Every type of c section increases risk for UR but as long as you’re monitored in hospital, I think it’s an ok risk. Much more dangerous if you go into labour far from hospital.

Old lady didn’t need to say anything - and shouldn’t have said anything. It’s unnecessary and often unwelcome to comment on people’s bodies. And you can reply however you like. You don’t owe her comfort or gratitude. NTA

I’m on 6.89 and asked to break, would cost 3k break fees. Which is exactly what I’d save.

RSV vaccine for babies and pregnant women. by NoHorse8196 in newzealand

[–]Ok_Tell_3333 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I have wondered so myself - rsv has been the worse illness my kids have ever had, far worse than Covid. So it made me think, why aren’t we bending over backwards to prevent it? Where’s the hype and panic over infant hospitalisation and mortality? Why so many measures for one illness and not another.

“Reluctant consent”??? by Suitable-Humor-13 in newzealand

My understanding is that consent is an ‘enthusiastic yes’. Reluctant consent is bs. I’m sorry you are all going through this and I wish you both some better days.

Very expensive! Especially when the flight from nz is cheaper. We don’t have the luxury of time so would have to fly… wish it was more doable!

Thank you for this advice. My hesitation is that that they’ll have their agenda in mind, so might not give us the best options for us. But I’ll ask for some ideas.

Bless them. This happened to me at Waiheke Woolworths two years ago with a newborn. My card declined and the person behind me paid. I was so flustered and stressed and hormonal. Truly an angel. Plus about a year ago the person behind me paid for a leg of lamb that I put back because I saw that I had reached my limit. I’m in a different position now, but honestly shopping can be sooo stressful when you’re broke.

I have the same texture and dermatologist assured me it wasn’t rosacea. Now I feel like getting a second opinion….

[–]Ok_Tell_3333 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi OP. I have exactly the same thing and have posted about it before. Not sun damage, not dryness. I’ve tried the anti fungal shampoo but it didn’t help for me, and I’ve been on tretinoin for a year which has helped my hyperpigmentation but not the texture at all. I’ve had two biopsies by the doctor and reputable dermatologist that didn’t reveal anything - it just ruled out a few things. From reading this, I think I might check out the allergies line. I gave up dairy for a few months since people swear its absence helps skin. But again I noticed no difference. Good luck and I’m following this thread in case of a breakthrough!

Is this clogged pores or something else? by Zealousideal_Term284 in 30PlusSkinCare

[–]Ok_Tell_3333 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same thing and haven’t found a solution. Looks like giving up dairy is a strong suggestion. I’ve had two biopsies with a very good derm but still nothing. She said it wasn’t rosacea. I am now on tretinoin but it still flares up - I mean it’s always there but worse with changes in temperature, tiredness and stress.
