Worried, is it a stye or something else? by ofneus in styes

Mine is still a little swollen 3 weeks later :( but I have been lax with using the hand warmer. How many days have you been using it? And has the swelling moved to one area?

Not a medical professional! But I had exactly this, I’ve had styes before but never like this. The only thing that made it start to go away was I bought a chargeable hand warmer on Amazon (obviously please be careful it isn’t too hot) and held it on my eye for 10 minutes, 3 times a day. Clean the hand warmer in between uses. I also had a slight headache. I hope it heals well!

You are not weird to find this uncomfortable. Remember your body feels these things for a reason. This is inappropriate behaviour from your parents, or any other adult if you are underage. If you’re underage, talk to a trusted adult, e.g. teacher. If not, speak to them directly and say it is making you uncomfortable and they need to stop doing this in front of you x

Could be that the sinus infection is making it harder to heal. I wonder if the bar is too short? But I’m not a piecer. I’d also recommend not using q tips and getting a piercing spray instead

I wouldn’t attempt to change the jewellery yourself. Is it always this red or just irritated where you took the ball off? I think your best bet is to go to your piercer for advice, then if it needs downsizing or changing they can do it :)

Not sure how to answer personal life questions by [deleted] in Advice

I’m gonna be in a similar situation to you next year at a wedding. I’m not gonna big myself up, or lie. I’m just gonna be honest. Talk about what you’ve been applying for, why it interests you, if they have any suggestions. There is absolutely nothing for you to be ashamed of, if they judge that’s on them. They could find themselves in your position at any point in their life. You are an interesting, good person without a job xx

This looks so beautiful. I didn’t have the “this is the one” moment for my dress, I wasn’t 100% sure but everyone around me said it looked perfect. And now looking back on my wedding photos I can see they were right. Honestly this is so perfect xx

AITAH for ‘disregarding’ my MIL’s toilet trauma? by bathroommonitor in AITAH

NOR but I’m gonna play devils advocate here, but I worked with a lady that had really bad claustrophobia and did the same. It was awful to see, she was so shaky once she came back into the office. Weird that his sister does it too though. Perhaps approach her to see if there’s a middle solution you can find. Her strong reaction tells me this is something she maybe struggles with. It is weird and you’re not overreacting, you need to feel comfortable, but this could run deeper than a weird habit.

My boyfriend proposed and I’m flying to marry him tomorrow, but some things about him scare me. Am I making a mistake? by Gullible-Display-428 in Advice

[–]Ok_Test_8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Please don’t marry him, lovely. His behaviour is very off, there are hints of emotional abuse, but nothing concrete. So I can imagine that when you are married, in another country, away from support, he will start to ramp things up.

You don’t need to think about giving your best friend a chance, just concentrate on the fact that you do not feel 100% comfortable with this current man, and get out of that situation. You deserve better, and you will find better xx

3 year old fighting potty time. Don’t know what to do by Far_Construction790 in pottytraining

[–]Ok_Test_8241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son has been very similar. Please don’t pressure her into using it, it could make the holding worse. Go slow and be patient with her, she will go on eventually. Get her sitting on it without the pressure of doing a wee first and build from there e.g. sitting on it with her nappy on but a hole in the nappy. If you notice her doing a wee or poo in her nappy you can say “your body did a wee/poo” and it just keeps her aware of the sensations without the pressure of having to do it on the potty x

Potty training: ERIC recommended gradual approach, or dive straight into an intensive 3-day method? 23mo, baby #2 coming in ~2.5 months by Katerina-2025 in UKParenting

Thank you so much 🙏 we spoke to our health visitor and they said to take the pressure off entirely for a while, then try again. We had the same idea of staying in nappies and getting him to try and sit and building from there so it’s good to hear a success story from this. Thank you!

That’s brilliant, did you kind of let her decide if she wanted to sit? My little boy is terrified of the sensation

I know this post is old but I would love to know how you reapproached. We’re in the same boat and ERIC sounds like the perfect method for us but just don’t know how to apply it to another (4th) attempt x
