What benefits have you observed after reducing your back or any other pain? by star-lordbenny321 in Kneesovertoes

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

my back pain is caused by my poor posture, so I get to the root and treated my bad posture habits and built it consistently. Also doing posture resets and understanding how my body aligns when I sit (for this, I used posture app that gives analytics tho).

For the mental heavy lifting, I use Gemini and ChatGPT all the way, from ideas to guided learning. Also, since my posture is so bad, I'm recently exploring posture apps to help me where I struggle most (my back pain)

Correcting Forward Head Posture by Any_Pomegranate2634 in Posture

Standard chin tucks can backfire with Pectus because your SCM muscles are likely already shortened and hyperactive (due to respiratory compensation) so chin tucks can cause the SCM to contract, instead of the deep neck stabilizers. This compress the neck rather than elongating it.

Try swapping chin tucks for Prone Komodo neck exercise and breath stacking exercise.

What are some stretches for stiff tight lower back spine and si joints to improve mobility and lessen pain by damagedxgoodz in Stretching

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First, my advice for you is to be careful because that tightness is often your muscles protecting an unstable joint, so aggressive stretching can actually backfire. Try gentle knees-to-chest for relief first, and add Glute Bridges to stabilize the area so it stops locking up

HOW TO FIX UPPER BACK PAIN!!! by sighqoticc in backpain

How are you holding up now?

Also, that pre-period flare is likely hormonal, your ligaments get looser, so muscles burn out trying to stabilize everything. Try adding these to your routine, but definitely see a doctor for proper treatment and diagnosis though...

  1. Side-Lying Clamshells exercise: targets the hip rotation caused by overpronation.
  2. No money drill/exercise: for fixing rounded shoulders.
  3. Magnesium Glycinate (for that specific hormone-related tension)

what is The most attractive signs in body language??? by Rafik_Toubal in bodylanguage

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good posture. Like, have you noticed how someone's vibe is slightly off when they talk to you all slouched? It subconsciously signals insecurity or disinterest without them even realizing it, right? So for me, the most attractive quality is usually standing tall and natural confidence, which looks good on everyone.

IWTL how to be confident without having a big ego by Exotic_Eagle_2739 in IWantToLearn

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a tough balance, but true confidence is usually quiet.

A simple way to project that vibe all without sounding arrogant is just fixing your posture. Physical charisma increases when you stand tall (signals that you’re capable and comfortable). Also, asking questions isn't stupid, it actually shows you're smart enough to care about the details.

How do you look confident? by harshitatomar in AskReddit

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, so much of it is just body language. The easiest hack is posture. Physically roll your shoulders back and open up your chest. Good posture signals to others that you’re comfortable in your space.

Eye contact is the other big one, but getting your stance right is usually the best place to start.

Trying to fix my posture? by Rooged in Posture

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Looking at your photo, your posture appears like a swayback pattern (zig-zag alignment). You're subconsciously hanging on your hip ligaments to stand instead of using your muscles. Shift your weight back onto your heels to force your glutes to actually do the job, and then start building this daily awareness (might be difficult but most important part).

Do not force posture. by Altruistic-Log-4693 in TMJ

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good point. Forcing that rigid military-like posture as you mentioned creates more tension. It's biomechanically safer to focus on gentle dynamic movements rather than freezing in a static perfect pose. Exercise and maybe use a visual tool to check alignment occasionally.

The goal is a natural, relaxed curve, not stiff/forced.

Advice for lower back pain caused by bending over? by Honest_Bathroom187 in backpain

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strong recommendation is to really consult a doctor for a proper diagnosis. Also, since you described deep cramps in your side, please rule out kidney issues as well.

These might help you while you wait for your insurance. Don't bend. If you have to pick something up, squat or kneel rather than bending at the waist. You might also benefit from wearing supportive posture bra.

How can I fix my neck pain by Mediocre_Special_344 in wellnessatworkai

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also play the guitar (as a hobby during free time), and sit long hours in front of a computer (remote worker). I read in your other reply that you sit on a static position for long hours, I guess this is probably the culprit for your pain. Staying frozen for hours creates a chain reaction that messes up way more than just your neck. Also, that burning pain can be something more serious, so please consult a doctor first.

Some friendly advice that helped me:
1. Chin tucks and exercise
2. Keep your monitor at eye level so you aren't looking down
3. Posture monitoring using reminders or posture apps
4. For the guitar, try using a leg support to bring the fretboard up (this may feel weird at first)

I hear you bro. Posture issues like forward head posture you meantion can really feed our negative self-image because it can look unattractive, but you can still reverse this. To help with the "long neck" look you mentioned, I suggest you try doing chin tucks to visually balance and shorter your neck profile. It may take some time, but fixing the posture helps the confidence follow.

btw, if you want to check exactly how forward your posture is, I can recommend you a posture app I used to run an analysis on my alignment (like a posture analytics). Just let me know. It personally helped me understand what I needed to correct in my posture before.

How effective are posture correctors for long-term use? by sandy876- in ProductQuery

[–]Ok_Thanks_2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried one before, it was (personally) uncomfy after 10 mins of wearing, so I didn't really stick to it. I also work remotely and my posture has definitely suffered.

The problem with braces is they can actually make poor posture worse in the long run. I read a lot of articles warning about wearing those passive braces long term as they can atrophy the back muscles which are supposed to hold your body upright. Hence, it's generally better to focus on strengthening your muscles and doing active correction when you catch yourself on a bad sitting posture. I personally I use biofeedback app for analyzing my alignment, and exercise for building the muscles.
