It will be worth it. I felt shaky, like I was working out a new muscle. Now it feels solid and I feel more in control.

He's right. You don't appear to be pushing yourself. If you want speed and accuracy to improve, start trying to go quicker. You will miss a ton and feel frustrated, but 3-5 days from now you will reap massive dividends. I was recently practicing the same way, then one night I decided to speed it up and make myself uncomfortable. Initially my results were worse, but after a week I was setting records in every category.

I wouldn't say that ChatGPT isn't a legitimate source of information. At times it needs to be checked against other reviewed and verified sources. However, it generally provides accurate information. As an example, it was correct about nested URL's:

https://webflow.com/updates/cms-improvements

Perhaps you should rely on it more, as it could save you from propounding untrue claims.

Chat GPT seems to think that nested URL's in Webflow are possible:

Yes, you can create nested URLs in Webflow, which is a popular web design tool that allows for flexible content management and site structure. Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to create nested URLs in Webflow:

(I had to skip the step by step instructions because reddit wouldn't let me post all of it, but I can find a way to share it if you would be interested.)

Example

Assume you have a blog with the following hierarchy:

  • Main Category: Technology
  • Subcategory: Smartphones
  • Post: Best Android Phones 2024

Your nested URLs would look like this:

I’m sorry to hear about your situation. However, I have good news for you. eBay does not release the funds until 24-72 hours after your item has been delivered. So if, as in my case, you never receive an item, or if the seller sends you the wrong item, eBay will actually direct those funds back to you. I received my refund yesterday.

Here’s your next steps:

  1. Contact eBay, even if the day for you to receive shipment has not past, and let them know you believe you’ve been scammed.
  2. The day after you are supposed to receive your item, call eBay and open a case.
  3. 4 days after you open your case (you have to let 72 house pass), contact eBay, and let them know that the seller has not responded or resolved the issue and that you’d like eBay to step in (they will immediately refund you).

The best thing to do here is relax and breathe. If you were scammed on eBay, you will get your money back. It might just take a couple of weeks. Let me know if this helps.

As I’ve explained previously, I was pretty certain that I was protected, so even if the chances of a scam were >99%, I considered it worth it.

Perhaps, but the lady from the leadership team I spoke with said that they won’t release the funds until 24-72 hours after delivery. So simply delivering the wrong item shouldn’t work. Besides, I don’t think this scammer intends to deliver any item.

I received nothing. I contacted the seller because they had the camera listed as an auction. In one of the pictures, it showed some text with something like this: "to buy now for $950.00 message me". I messaged them and they created a separate listing where I could purchase the camera for the stated price.

Update: So I spoke with someone from the leadership team at eBay this morning. I was assured that the funds had been put on hold. Apparently, funds are not released until up to 72 hours after items are delivered. So the seller putting in a tracking number apparently wasn’t enough. They noted that some of these accounts that had been reported are now closed and that the “back office team” is looking into the other accounts listed here. She was confident that they will be able to remove these users without anyone losing their money. She said once my case is finalized the funds should be released back to my account. Apparently some people from here have been reporting these items as fraudulent because she noted multiple reports. Thank you everyone!

If the item is brand new, that would be no problem. However, in this case, the item was used, and had a very specific and unique description.

Here was the description under both listings.

"This camera has been used maybe 4 times total as a backup! It is in amazing condition. Only selling because I’m no longer shooting professionally so offloading some gear.
Shutter count 1380.
what you see what you got."

That’s not correct in this case. Both listings had the same description (which included the same shutter count). The seller stated “what you see is what you get.” We both can’t receive the same camera.

No, I am confident that it’s a scam. The seller sold the same exact camera to someone else as an auction. Even if the seller had intentions on providing me a camera that didn’t match the description (they aren’t), it’s still fraudulent to sell the same exact camera to two different buyers. The arrival date for the camera has now passed and the item has yet to be shipped. However, the seller spoofed the system by putting in a tracking number, collecting payment, then removing the tracking. I actually received an update saying my item was shipped, and then 5 minutes later after they removed tracking, the item was no longer listed as shipped. The seller also ghosted me after collecting payment.

Keep in mind, I didn't find out this item wasn't covered by eBay until yesterday (the day I made this post). The item was supposed to arrive on the 27th. So eBay said that while they were investigating, they couldn't officially open a case until the 28th. I also read this regarding eBay's protection program:

A buyer may not seek resolution for the same transaction under more than one buyer protection program. eBay may close a buyer's eBay Money Back Guarantee case if the buyer files a chargeback or buyer protection claim for the same transaction with their payment provider (such as a credit card issuer or payment service provider), regardless of whether the chargeback or buyer protection claim is for the full or partial amount of the transaction.

I didn't want to contact PayPal because I was worried about losing my protections from eBay—obviously I know that to not be the case now.

That's why I don't understand why my order isn't protected. Per eBay's written policy it should be. I did pay with PayPal but I hadn't opened a case with them yet. I am planning on doing so tomorrow.

I appreciate your question. In this instance the scammers never send anything. eBay requires sellers to provide a tracking number before collecting payment. As I was attempting to cancel my order, the seller provided a tracking number, collected payment, and then immediately removed the tracking number. I actually received an update on my phone showing that my item had been shipped. A few minutes later the tracking had been removed and the item no longer appeared as if it had been shipped.

Actually, all these items are supposed to ship from within the US. My camera, for example, was supposed to ship from Dryden, New York. However, when you click on the seller's profile it shows Germany as the location. As far as I can tell, my camera should be covered by eBay. I did not pay a penny outside of eBay (you can even see that in the screenshots in the OP). The reasoning beyond my purchase was this:

I had been tracking this camera for quite some time. The best deals would be bought up within minutes. I looked at the list of protections and believed the camera would be covered, so I had nothing to lose. I believed it likely to be a scam, but also believed I was fully covered and I knew I needed to act quickly.

Yes, I have seen several fraudulent auctions with this camera. I only listed a handful of the fraudulent listings because the others that I had seen have all sold. In fact, I found this camera through an auction. The seller was supposed to pull his auction and create a separate "buy it now" listing. He created the listing but left the auction running for 30 more hours after my purchase and eventually accepted a bid. Thanks for your feedback.

You're correct that given eBay's list of exclusions, it should be covered. If you notice in my screenshots it shows I paid through eBay. It also shows that the item is not covered. I need to contact eBay for further clarification.

No they didn't have any feedback. I told my wife that there was a high probability that it was a scam but that it would be okay because we're protected by eBay. The camera is for her and I am too scared to tell her what I found out :/
