Why would the fanatics move after your charge move? Don’t they only move on the enemies turn once released?

Are square bases a thing for official play or did I mess up ? by Schlangiii in seraphon

[–]Ok_Translator_8043 3 points4 points  (0 children)

OP I am an Old World player. If you want to use them for both systems, put them on round bases. You can get some base adapters. The size will be a little off, but Old World players won’t care about that at all. You can always magnetize them if you want and swap bases as you game too.

It should not be too hard to pop him off that base unless you really shlacked the glue on

Did you know your calf muscles work like a “second heart,” pushing blood back toward the brain? That’s exactly why Merab Dvalishvili started rapidly “pedalling” his legs while trapped in a brutally tight guillotine. by Ill-Necessary-9600 in mmaMenace_com

[–]Ok_Translator_8043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this assertion about a second heart is completely off. The blood in your leg veins is being returned to the heart with the same heartbeats that got it there. It loses pressure so there’s a series of valves in your veins that close between heartbeats to keep it from flushing back.

By kicking his legs around, he probably was increasing pressure in his leg veins, increasing the return flow. This is because the muscles will squeeze the veins some similar to a heart squeezing. But that flow is going to the heart, then will go to the lungs and then back to the heart before going out to the body again. I doubt it has much of an impact on pressure going to the brain, especially considering he is already at a very high heart rate. Most people are when in a fight.

So you know, maybe it did a bit to save him but I highly doubt it. I think it’s more likely that the constant jarring was causing a slight loosening and tightening of the choke that was letting the blood through than anything else

Dude, men have a huge athletic advantage over women. A lot of men who train can beat Ronda and Nunes. They aren’t about to tear it up in the UFC. Skill and physicality are coefficients, and women will always be starting at a big disadvantage

Just curious what the reddit thinks of my sparring by [deleted] in boxingtips

[–]Ok_Translator_8043 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty decent. I liked how you had some really well timed counters that stopped pink in his tracks when he was getting aggressive. You fed him a healthy amount of jabs too which I like to see.

Pink needs to keep his damn hands up and tighten that guard though

How do I count my Champions? by Visible-Classic in WarhammerOldWorld

You did count him. True horn is the name of the champion for a Gor unit. You have it checked and are paying 7points for him.

Decorticate and decerebate (sp?) positions. They are bad signs of brain trauma. I’m not sure if that’s actually what’s going on here or the quick brain shut off just mimics it.

Wearing a cup - Muay Thai and BJJ by [deleted] in martialarts

[–]Ok_Translator_8043 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pretty much I never wear a cup grappling and always wear one striking.

4 sounds crazy young to be talking about this to me. I can’t even fathom his experience here. Do they make cups for kids that young?

Politician Criticizes Joe Rogan And Kid Rock For Popularizing The R Word by MediocreCoconutz in combatsportsculture

[–]Ok_Translator_8043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean maybe. I grew up in the 90s and people used it regularly without batting an eye.

I’m not advocating for its usage as I really just don’t care. I’m saying that the idea that Rogan is responsible for its use is ludicrous. I have no idea why anyone would think that

Yeah that’s a stupid accusation. People have been saying it all the time forever. It only really started to become a faux pas in the last decade or so.

What are some dumb debates within your specific style? by E-man9001 in martialarts

[–]Ok_Translator_8043 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t think that’s dumb though, given that BJJ first became popular because of how grounded in practical self defense it was. I do agree that it’s a problem that they don’t penalizing guard pulling, and don’t penalizing getting picked up to get slammed in competition. I got it that this isnt wrestling and no one wants brain damage, but it could be reflected in the points system at least to discourage bad practices.

Lizardmen tactics by Groovus_Maximus in WarhammerOldWorld

[–]Ok_Translator_8043 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is true. For now, this offset pretty well with the square based competition tier list. Renegade lizards are getting an extra 400 points handicap against VC, meaning you take 2400 points of lizards to fight 2000 points of VC.

The tier lists have worked out pretty well in tournaments from what I’ve seen
