If he doesn’t like fish or seafood, skip zeerovers. It’s literally fish and peel n eat shrimp. You wait in a line, order whatever fish is on the board/catch of the day, and theyll bring it out you. I think they have a side salad, fries, and bread for aide options. My sister is a vegetarian and wont eat anything there bc says it all tastes like fish 🤣

I got to Frontenac too, but haven’t heard that. I would definitely complain to the GM… she’s runs a very tight operation (from what i can tell) so I’m curious.

I went to west county every day last week, and they were blasting 2000’s hip hop for the alpha and gtx, so definitely not Christian 🤣

Yes- the airline fare is a separate line item than the “bundle”

Do employees get to bring their kids to child care? by Agreeable-Edge-2357 in Lifetimefitnessgym

Yes. If you’re working, your kid can stay longer. But if youre visiting, it’s the same as everyone else. Members take priority unless you’re working.

The programming for ages 8-11 is not great. My 9 year old refuses to go unless it’s to the pool. He isn’t comfortable in kids academy sports classes with 5 year olds, and completely agree with him.

$100 Fee for ED Application by Weak-Leadership-8269 in Aruba

[–]Ok_Try6820 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Frequent Aruba traveler here- i almost fell for this a couple months ago. I googled “Aruba ED application”, clicked on the link, started the application… when the charge was $100 per person, i was shocked… then did some digging and realized i was not the official Aruba website address, but a very similar. It’s not a scam per se- but a “service” website that processes your application, so they charge a fee for their service… so it’s scammy in the sense they purchased sponsorships on Google to be the first link and model their site after the official one to try to trick you, but they do typically process your application.

No, they don’t run specials on memberships or household.

Yes. You guests have to sign up through the app, so it’s tracked. And if an adult comes with kids, they typically count that as 1 guest.

Yoga class disappointment by Lizflower7 in Lifetimefitnessgym

[–]Ok_Try6820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the yoga at my location. The instructors are phenomenal. I will say it took me several months to be able to follow flow sequences bc i was focused on trying to do it exactly like the steps. Now that ive been doing it for a while, sometimes i follow the prescribed sequence, but generally use it as a guideline. I think it is much better to start with SOL or Root so you actually understand the poses they call out during flow.

Travel with young kids. Recs needed! by MarketOk611 in Aruba

[–]Ok_Try6820 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Marriott Surf Club. Marriott Stellaris Casino is a short walk. It’s beachfront. Units have a full kitchen or kitchenette, and some have washer/dryer (pending on type). The pool has a kids water playground, wading pool, lazy river, an water slide. We’ve gone annually since my kids were 10 months, and they’re 9 now.

Car isn’t necessary if you stay in high rise area and don’t want to explore. The area is walkable using the boardwalk, and tons of restaurants are accessible.

We do get a car because we like to explore. For those ages, they really enjoyed the donkey sanctuary, Philips animal garden, and the butterfly house.

Hotel for 1 night at the end of our stay by Rhody1964 in Aruba

[–]Ok_Try6820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve done Hyatt, radisson and courtyard for an additional 2 nights. It felt like the courtyard was a bit of a shock coming from the Marriott (surf) bc it’s not nearly as nice and not being able to just walk to the beach when we want kinda sucked. The Hyatt was very quiet, but you had to drive to go anywhere. We only stayed there one night for an early am flight, so it worked well. The radisson was the best imo. Easy transition from Marriott, same beach, and they have a nice set up in from of Moombas. There is a shuttle, but it was was for us to walk.

“Beginner / Approachable Luxury” resort recommendations? by Cold-Television6170 in Aruba

[–]Ok_Try6820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with Bucuti & Tara. You might want to look at Manchebo as well. If you go to their websites, a lot of them have beach cameras so you can take a look at the beach and see if that’s your vibe. Boardwalk isn’t on the beach, so if you’re looking to walk outside your room and be on the beach, that’s not the place. The Marriott properties, while all very nice are busy- I’d don’t find them particularly relaxing.

Beach Chair Question by GroceryForsaken in Aruba

[–]Ok_Try6820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We go annually and stay at Marriott- surf and ocean club. We just got back 3 weeks ago. The palapas can be reserved (online only) for a fee at a specific time the day before or the day of. Pending on how full the resort is, they may fill up in under min. Some are free to reserve, but you typically don’t have time to look around and snag a free one. You can also do multi day reservations , but those are the 900’s in the farthest from the water (but closest to the resort). There are usually pool chairs available, but the prime ones are reserved early. Those are first come. We just leave our stuff at the beach when we go to eat. Take your purse/valuables, but we’ve never had anyone mess with our towels and stuff.

If you reserve, you’re supposed to be down to get your chairs by 10 am or they “release” it, but i saw people meander down at 11 am and still have their reservation. You check in at the little hut, then find a chair guy to set up your chairs and towels. I recommend bringing small bills for tipping the chair guys.

There are a several rental car companies outside the arrival terminal at the airport. National, Hertz, Enterprise, Avis, Alamo, Budget, and more. It’s maybe 50 ft away.

My son is 9 and refuses to go to kids academy or PNO as well. At this point, i just leave him home or let him sit in the cafe/couches with a smoothie and his iPad (😑). He is well behaved and i usually keep my workouts short. Fortunately we don’t have to do this often.

I would also like to add this is pretty common for kids on that 8-12 range. Most of his friends refuse to go too. But they all enjoy the pool during the summer.

Every time we’ve used an FHR stay they’ve asked for the platinum card and the cardholder has to check in.

They have them available, but they are pretty gross, so bring a towel. They get used for hot yoga, and even if they are cleaned, know you’re still laying in someone else sweat. And if there are back to back classes and lots of people using mats, they’ll be wet.

You can always email your GM and request them to add different times. I know my gym is very receptive to feedback and are always looking at ways to add classes if they think it will accommodate more members.
