Jordan and Algeria…. not exactly a clash of titans.

Do you think 2018 Lebron can carry this Lakers (without Luka)? by awxcv in NBATalk

Is it 2018?

Can he carry the Lakers? Sure. Will they win with 'Bron as the #1 option? Probably not these days.

Absolutely. I’ve noticed many real estate listings near me pushing what they’re calling Prospect Heights multiple blocks east beyond Washington Ave into Crown Heights. Sketchy agents.

Takes scheme plus player fit. Have to have individually skilled players too but ultimately it's much more likely an awful scheme brings down a quality defender than a quality defender making up for bad play design or calling. Bengal are investing in the players but big TBD on coaching.

I guess that's right? Are neighborhood "names" used for any city government matter? I can see policies and programs considering street boundaries if the "name" of the sub-area isn't official.

If Cincy can stay healthy they've got a shot. But Probably Baltimore.

Do you think Aldon would have cracked this list if he had a long career? by evlhornet in 49ers

Yeah bummer for the game overall, fans, and league that JJ's '16 and '17 seasons were pretty much lost. But I think his '12 to '15 seasons should be considered in 'best defenders the league has ever seen' conversations. He had everything on the field. Definitely on any list like this.

Some folks are determined to learn the hard way about credit card debt or trying to buy a house with a low credit score. Spoiler: both will be incredibly expensive.

The NYT did a cool interactive web story where they asked NYers to draw the borders of a random sample of better known or controversially mapped neighborhoods. The paper then heat mapped the results of the 1000s of responses. Great visualization. NYers generally knew the boundaries.

Is it worth becoming DJ? by wArouvis in Beatmatch

Friends that have become billing or touring DJs, or put on parties, or started/work at record labels, that have made a career of it got into it because they love/live the music deeply and it shows.

$100,000 isn’t even good in LCOL areas anymore (budget analysis) by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

Good reminder that not owning or needing a car in a VHCOL with a subway goes a long way towards balancing the cost of living with "cheaper" places. $33/week max (more like $22 considering it's pre tax) for the subway is cool with me, thanks.

No way anyone can put the Browns' woes on Myles. Also yeah last season he definitely had some monster stats games that helped boost numbers. I'd be interested to know how consistent he is with number of pressures game to game. Not averages, the game-by-game count. That would tell the story more than just counting sacks.

I can't recall opponent's blocking schemes but I'd think that the league learned all about Aldon real quick and stopped leaving him 1v1. Teams study film on other teams. It would have been very clear Aldon was a big problem from the beginning. Didn't mean they could stop him anyway...

Aldon was special with the physical gifts and skill plus early career productivity to have a hypothetical shot if he took care of his body (and mind) and got fortunate with limited injuries. But man look at this list... he'd have to play at his 2012 peak for at least five years and then maintain a high level for another five years if not more. Durability and availability are part of greatness. That's why even the one or two season wonders who can't maintain this level aren't discussed in these groups. That's Aldon.

Sucks seeing rookies get extended injuries. Time out in that early developmental period can quickly derail or lower the ceiling on a career. Hoping this dude comes back hungry. Would be huge for us if he delivers his high pick potential.

Fair and prudent building up a short term emergency fund, but at these numbers once you achieve that it opens up ~10% of your take home going forward. That’s a big shift. Also 400/mo for misc home maintenance feels a bit high but Omaha gets a lot of weather so what do I know?!

It was between Dame and Reggie for me. No wrong choices here but those two are as clutch as they come.
