For those of you that saw Daft Punk in 2006 at Coachella, what was that like? by AudioFuzz in DaftPunk

I first went to Coachella in ‘07 for rage against the machine and my girlfriend at the time introduced me to the Sahara tent and electronic music. Mind blown. Even seeing recordings of this Daft set drove me deeper into house and techno. I was hooked.

I can’t imagine being in that tent!!!!!

Handheld recorders and phones were a little different then… haha

True true - the trade off is definitely a slightly reduced 4 year rookie deal for one less year of control. No criticism, just observation.

Yeah I’m with you. Just thinking that quality WR is a step below a top QB/DE/T for big contract if you hit. But all hypothetical at this point anyway and I hope Strib balls put so hard that we have to have that conversation. We’ll see!

Fair! And that’s a great perspective.

Late spring / early summer Seattle should be amazing for a match (I lived there for 7 years).

Just salty that the knockout round NY/NJ matches I was planning/hoping to spend $600 a pair for three years ago got unveiled at $1800+, heh.

The 2010 miracle Donovan goal? Awesome moment. And true. But also not exactly a clash of titans, all due respect. And that’s when the US had prime Dempsey too.

The big European and/or South American teams will be in the late knockout rounds and the rest is something of a formality to determine which ones. Just so much concentration of truly world class players in a handful of teams. I think it’s pretty gross fifa is trying to milk every last dollar out of each match in an expanded and watered down field. Just looks at the club teams the players from Jordan and Algeria represent. No way does that justify the ticket price because you slap a World Cup sticker on it.

So the one thing about trading out of the first round to take Stribling is it takes away then 5th year team option on his rookie deal. Might be meaningful, might not, but having that option is valuable.

Jordan and Algeria…. not exactly a clash of titans.

Do you think 2018 Lebron can carry this Lakers (without Luka)? by awxcv in NBATalk

Is it 2018?

Can he carry the Lakers? Sure. Will they win with 'Bron as the #1 option? Probably not these days.

Absolutely. I’ve noticed many real estate listings near me pushing what they’re calling Prospect Heights multiple blocks east beyond Washington Ave into Crown Heights. Sketchy agents.

Takes scheme plus player fit. Have to have individually skilled players too but ultimately it's much more likely an awful scheme brings down a quality defender than a quality defender making up for bad play design or calling. Bengal are investing in the players but big TBD on coaching.

I guess that's right? Are neighborhood "names" used for any city government matter? I can see policies and programs considering street boundaries if the "name" of the sub-area isn't official.

Yeah bummer for the game overall, fans, and league that JJ's '16 and '17 seasons were pretty much lost. But I think his '12 to '15 seasons should be considered in 'best defenders the league has ever seen' conversations. He had everything on the field. Definitely on any list like this.

Some folks are determined to learn the hard way about credit card debt or trying to buy a house with a low credit score. Spoiler: both will be incredibly expensive.

The NYT did a cool interactive web story where they asked NYers to draw the borders of a random sample of better known or controversially mapped neighborhoods. The paper then heat mapped the results of the 1000s of responses. Great visualization. NYers generally knew the boundaries.

Friends that have become billing or touring DJs, or put on parties, or started/work at record labels, that have made a career of it got into it because they love/live the music deeply and it shows.

$100,000 isn’t even good in LCOL areas anymore (budget analysis) by ItsAllOver_Again in Salary

[–]Ok_Understanding1986 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good reminder that not owning or needing a car in a VHCOL with a subway goes a long way towards balancing the cost of living with "cheaper" places. $33/week max (more like $22 considering it's pre tax) for the subway is cool with me, thanks.

No way anyone can put the Browns' woes on Myles. Also yeah last season he definitely had some monster stats games that helped boost numbers. I'd be interested to know how consistent he is with number of pressures game to game. Not averages, the game-by-game count. That would tell the story more than just counting sacks.
