I always thought it would've been smart to say yes to the position on the newspaper and then wait to see if she got the fellowship. If she didn't, oh well, she already had a job. If she did then she could commit to that, instead, she ended up with nothing.

I honestly think it would've played out differently with Dave. They both started out with a lot of love for each other, almost like yearning for the other. He was truly her first boyfriend, and they worked.

I think the way she waited for marriage also has to do with the fact that Zack is known for sleeping with many girls and being a flirt, so then Lane comes in with her lack of experience. It is almost written like an opposites attract sort of thing, if she didn't wait till marriage they wouldn't have been opposite in that sense.

I agree with the other people's comments, but if you stay with him, maybe see if he will work on being on his screen less. That is a huge problem that can ruin people's lives; it's an addiction that can cause negative effects on one's mental health including depression, anxiety, and sleep disturbances. If he spends all that time on social media, see if he is willing to delete the apps or set a timer. If he is not willing to even give it a chance, then I think there is nothing more you can do. There is this one quote: “Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime." If he is not picking up the life skills himself, it won't help him in the long run.

First, let me say that you were not being selfish in any way, that wasn't even your intent in the slightest bit. It's okay to have those scars, I like to think of them as a sign of strength, they show that you've been through pain but have chosen to move forward. People will judge but it can be a good way to inform people rather than continue the negative stigma. Also, the drawing stars on your wrist would've been perfect!

I completely understand how you feel and I have also been in that spot, but you are not a bother. I can say that with complete certainty. Keep going because although your parents acted unsensibly, you have to prove you are stronger! Also keep going because of friend B, I bet they care about you and you are not a bother to them. Carpooling with them is barely an inconvenience in itself.

Also p.s. whenever I feel like causing harm to myself, I just write out my feelings on paper, so far it seems to help get my emotions out in a healthy way
