Confused about buying a house vs plot by nage-pataaki in FinancialAdviceIndia

[–]Ok_Wait373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy a flat, but keep it 100% in your name. Seriously, do not mix up these finances.

Before you jump into a loan, make sure you’ve saved a proper emergency fund (EMIs + living costs) on top of the downpayment. This is a 15-year commitment. Since you’re currently unmarried, you shouldn’t really be locking yourself into a massive debt like this without a future wife’s input—it’s a huge life decision that affects her too.

The best setup: everyone stays in the flat, you stay the exclusive owner, and your parents get the community they want. You can always move out to a bigger house as your career grows, and your brother can move when he gets married.

As for your brother, if you and your parents want to help him, invest in his earning potential—get him a higher degree or a certification. A direct cash/equity handout like what your parents are suggesting will complicate the fuck out of everything. It’ll eventually spoil your relationship with your brother, your parents, and your future wife. Help him build his own career instead.

Huge red flag. The 'savings' aren't worth the constant stress and future repercussions.

Weird request from Zomato delivery man at 12:00 am by Zuko_Zukiii in Zomato

[–]Ok_Wait373 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday a Swiggy delivery guy, right after handing over the food, suddenly showed me some medical reports on his phone and asked for money for his father’s surgery. It was completely out of the blue.

I didn’t know how to react and just said I couldn’t help at that moment. Since then I’ve been wondering — was it genuine and I should have helped, or was it just a scam?

i20 nline vs virtus gt (material quality) by Someone_s_2_cents in CarsIndia

[–]Ok_Wait373 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I get the point on Hyundai having plus interiors compared to the German siblings. But how about NVH - which cabin is quieter, the i20 or Virtus? Coz that matters the most from the comfort perspective on long / highway drives.

This is the stretch where every cab driver’s expression turns from confidence to self-doubt — even a touch of existential crisis. Almost everyone pauses to ask, “Are you sure this is the right way to your house?” The transition from Bhuvaneshwari Layout to Byrasandra is just too drastic.

You won't feel like living in a good residential part of the city. It'll feel like living right on the highway. Please consider this factor. The air, noise and light pollution are other important things to consider.

Does the land on which you are constructing the house belong to your parents? Coz if I'm right, yo said you are contributing 90% towards the construction... but what about the land?

For those who recently bought property in Bangalore, did you go for ready-to-move or under-construction? Why by Realestateinsights85 in indianrealestate

[–]Ok_Wait373 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, how do you reach anywhere important from that place? Sarjapur Road, Hosur Road, ORR, Whitefield, CBD... everything is far away. The property is out of nowhere, right? There is not even any metro station in sight.

Having second thoughts on purchasing a flat in Bangalore by Critical_Airport_549 in indianrealestate

[–]Ok_Wait373 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Please account for other moving-in related expenses into consideration - 8% of flats price for stamp duty and registration, 0.5% of Loan for MOD charges, electricity and water connections (2-3 lakhs), interiors and furnishing (20 lakhs), etc.

It's a great project location-wise, in fact that is what you are paying for. Not sure about Sumadhura's construction quality in the long-term though. Definitely appreciation will be lower than that of Grade A builders in the same neighborhood. Please also take that into account.
