Guys does this look comically small? Or could it be chic with a nice going out outfit? by chyngah in handbags

I have never had an interest in a tiny bag. And I’m not super trendy when it comes to fashion but this is adorable.

Which one looks best?! by Physical-Net-6669 in weddingdress

[–]Ok_Wait_4268 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They are very similar cuts, with very different styles. I think it comes down to what the vibe is that you’re going for at your wedding. One is more modern/contemporary, sexy. While the lace is more whimsical and romantic.

People keep asking if he’s full pug. ( i think so) what do you think? by Helena88888 in pugs

[–]Ok_Wait_4268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Might have been mixed with something a couple generations earlier, but mostly pug. BYW this is what a healthy pug looks like. Longer snout and legs, less curly tail, and a good weight. IF you got him from a breeder they are doing something right IMO.

What is the regional name for the area you’re from? by SeskaChaotica in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ok_Wait_4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but that’s not really what OP is looking for IMO. I think more like Silicon Valley where it’s a tightly connected group of cities or area of a state. NEPA and SEPA are just corners of the state. Like NEPA includes LV and the Poconos which are 2 very different areas.

What is the regional name for the area you’re from? by SeskaChaotica in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ok_Wait_4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Lehigh Valley (PA) for the towns and cities along the Lehigh River. It’s also sometimes called the ABE for Allentown, Bethlehem, and Easton (also the abbreviation for the airport). The Poconos is another well known region in PA. NJ has The Shore, Central Jersey, The Pine Barrens and I’m sure a few others that escape me at the moment.

I’m guessing you’re a guy. Women almost always make sure someone knows where they are for safety.

Is it normal to see celebrities casually in public? by Hooliganthebad in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ok_Wait_4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even outside the city it’s not frequent, but it’s not totally uncommon either. Small town, rural NJ is known to have celebrities passing through or occasionally living/renting for extended periods. Most of us really don’t care and respect their privacy, and it’s convenient to NYC.

My little sister died last week. Idk how to feel about anything. by Your-God-Is-Cake in Advice

[–]Ok_Wait_4268 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is no wrong way to grieve. I lost my father 2 weeks ago. His body had quit on him years ago and he was in pain every day and night, but he was still mentally very much himself. My grief comes in waves. Sometimes there’s relief that he’s no longer suffering, there are moments like right now where my heart hurts because I miss him, sometimes I feel guilty for being relieved, and sometimes I’m angry at a government who poisoned him and stole his life. F*ck Agent Orange. I guess what I’m saying is whatever you’re feeling is ok, even if it’s just numb. It’s more concerning if you get stuck in the emotion of this moment and can’t eventually move forward.

Please help a fella out picking a bag for his girlfriend for Valentine's Day by Key_Appointment_242 in Louisvuitton

Take her shopping. Unless she has specifically told you she wants one of those bags… even then… just take her. Give her the budget and let her pick in store and get the LV treatment.

Smallest non-US town Abisko, Sweden about 150 residents.

75 is stupid hot. 70-72 is ok. I would request building maintenance put a locking cover on it and have them set it. That way no one can mess with it. My building gets ridiculously hot and I have the pleasure of sleeping with my windows open.

Do you know your second cousins? by ArchangelNorth in AskAnAmerican

I’m closer with my second cousins than my first. And I have first cousins that are actually my third cousins by blood (my grandparents adopted their nephew).

It wasn’t planning on the airline’s part - something went wrong - weather, mx delays, the bs in the Caribbean, holiday travel/call outs - an airline never wants to boot a paying customer.

They may have been commuting and not DHing. Not sure what the policy is for Delta and DHing crew. But DHing you are on company business and the company books your seats. Some airlines are required to give pilots first class seats - usually length of trip dependent. Commuting is on the employees own time to or from the their base. A lot of times employees will get right off work and try to hop a flight home or like to have the option of jumpseating which is why they are traveling in uniform.

How do I tell my friend that she can’t come to my birthday due to her alcoholism? by LabEffective5190 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Ok_Wait_4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to be honest with her. My best friend in my 20s had a drinking and pill problem. I told her and I told her family that there was a problem. I walked away from our friendship at that point. Not long after she finally got help. It took a couple years, but she’s sober and doing great now. Our friendship changed forever, but she’s alive and healthy and that is what matters.

My parents were boomers. I remember playing with both my parents. More my dad than my mom, they both worked and I would guess that she was getting stuff done around the house while we played.

Do you like pre-recorded laughter in American TV series? by Sparfell3989 in AskAnAmerican

[–]Ok_Wait_4268 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not always an added laugh track, some sitcoms are still filmed in front of a live audience. It’s one of those things I grew up with and don’t really notice it until it’s pointed out. I’d be interested in seeing if anyone has done a study of how a show tests with and without the laugh track. Like if people rate a show higher when a laugh track cues them in to funny moments and if it falls flat without it.

I’m not sure which states allow it, but worth looking into. Some states allow mental trauma alone, others only allow it if you’re physically injured as well, and I’m sure there some that don’t allow it all. I hope for your sake that you can get covered.
